Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another deep dive into the world of college football prospects. Today, we’re gonna talk about a name that’s been buzzing around, a true beast on the defensive line – Jameian Buxton.
I first caught wind of this guy when I was scrolling through some high school football highlights. There was this defensive lineman from Warren Easton High School, just absolutely wrecking offensive lines. I mean, this dude was a nightmare for quarterbacks. I saw him play, and I just knew that this was a guy who could do some damage at the college level. Then I found out he was playing for my UTSA Roadrunners! What a pleasant surprise!
So, I dug a little deeper. Turns out, Jameian was an all-district defensive lineman under Coach Jerry Phillips. This guy helped lead his team, the Eagles, to a 10-2 record and a playoff run in his senior year. Ten wins and two losses are not bad at all! That’s a pretty solid track record if you ask me. I was thinking to myself, “Okay, this kid’s got some serious potential.”
What really caught my eye was his size and strength. We’re talking about a 6-foot-1, 330-pound monster. I mean, the guy is a wall! He is bigger than most guys, so of course he can hold his own in the middle. But it’s not just about size, right? This guy’s got the skills to back it up.
- First off, his ability to disrupt plays is crazy. I watched some more of his games, and he’s constantly in the backfield, blowing up runs and pressuring the quarterback.
- He’s got this explosive first step that just catches offensive linemen off guard. It’s like he teleports past them!
- And his strength? Forget about it. He’s tossing guys around like they’re rag dolls. I saw one play where he just picked up a running back and threw him out of bounds like he was nothing.
I started following him more closely when he committed to the University of Texas at San Antonio. I was hyped! I knew he was gonna be a force to be reckoned with in the college game.
Following the Journey
I kept tabs on him through various sports news sites. I’d check in every now and then to see how he was doing, reading up on his stats and any news about him. I even looked up some interviews to get a sense of his personality. Seemed like a humble, hard-working dude, which I respect.
The more I learned about him, the more impressed I became. Not only was he dominating on the field, but he was also playing basketball in high school. Playing multiple sports in high school usually is a good indicator of athleticism. That’s some serious athleticism right there.
I’ve been following his progress at UTSA, and let me tell you, he hasn’t disappointed. He’s been a key part of their defensive line, consistently making big plays and helping the Roadrunners win games. It’s been awesome to see him develop and grow as a player. I also learned that he played for Thibodaux and got them to the playoff as a sophomore in 2020, which is kind of crazy if you think about it! All in all, I think this guy will have a bright future ahead of him.
So yeah, that’s my little journey of discovering and following Jameian Buxton. I’m telling you, keep an eye on this guy. He’s the real deal, and I think he’s got a bright future ahead of him. I’m excited to see what he does next. Maybe we’ll see him in the pros someday? Who knows! But one thing’s for sure, I’ll be watching.
