Revisiting Edge and Randy Orton
So, I got this itch the other day. You know how sometimes you just need to revisit something? Well, for me, it was the whole saga between Edge and Randy Orton. I figured, instead of just remembering bits and pieces, I’d actually sit down and go through it again, like properly watch their main stuff chronologically, as much as possible anyway.

I started way back, trying to find some of their early interactions, but really dove in when they formed Rated-RKO. Man, watching that stuff again, you forget how much of a menace those two were together. Just pure attitude. I spent a good chunk of time just watching their tag matches and promos from that era. It really set the stage, you know? Showed their chemistry, even as allies, sort of.
Then, obviously, had to jump way forward. The big return. Edge at the Rumble. Goosebumps stuff, still is. But then, boom, Orton does what Orton does. That turn, the attack… brutal. Watching that sequence again, focusing on how they built that personal animosity back up so fast, it was quite something.
- Watched the Royal Rumble return moment.
- Followed up with the Raw segments building the feud.
- Sat through the Last Man Standing match at WrestleMania.
That Last Man Standing match… okay, it went all over the place, literally. But watching it again, I wasn’t looking for technical perfection. I was watching the story, the raw emotion they were trying to convey after Edge’s comeback. It felt like a fight, messy and personal. Took a lot out of them, you could tell.
And then, the big one they hyped up: Backlash 2020. “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever”. Big claim, right? I put that on, tried to ignore the hype, and just watch the two guys work. Honestly, it was a long match, a really long one. But technically? Pretty damn impressive. You gotta appreciate the effort, the conditioning, the psychology they packed in there. Watching it this time, I paid more attention to the pacing, how they built it up bit by bit. It was a different kind of intensity compared to the Mania brawl.
So yeah, spent a good few hours just immersed in Edge vs. Orton. From partners in crime to bitter enemies, years apart. It’s quite a journey when you lay it out like that. Just wanted to experience that whole arc again from start to finish, or at least the main beats. Good stuff. Reminds you how long and intertwined some careers can be.
