I started by sketching out the basics. You got your three pigs, obviously. I made them look a little rough around the edges, not too cutesy.

- The second one, he’s got sticks and twigs.
- And the third pig, he’s the smart one, using bricks. I tried to show that in their faces, you know? The first two are kinda carefree, and the third one’s more serious, determined.
Then there’s the wolf. Man, drawing a decent wolf is tough! I wanted him to look menacing, but not like, a cartoon villain. I went through a bunch of different versions, trying to get the eyes right, the snarl, the whole deal. I think I redid the wolf’s head like five times before I was somewhat happy with it.
Once the characters were down, I started working on the background. I figured a simple forest setting would do the trick. I added some trees, a bit of grass, a path leading up to each house. Nothing too fancy, just enough to give it some context.
The whole process took me a few days, working on it here and there when I had some free time. It’s not perfect, I’m no professional artist or anything, but I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out. It was a fun little project, and it got me thinking about those old stories in a new way.
