Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my gaming adventures! Today, I’m diving deep into my experience with FragPunk on the PS5. So, let’s get to it!
First off, I heard about this game, FragPunk, back at The Game Awards 2024. The trailer got me instantly, and the fact that it’s from an indie developer, Bad Guitar Studio, made me even more interested. I remember thinking, “This looks fresh, gotta try this out.”
Then I found out it’s a free-to-play, five-versus-five hero shooter, published by NetEase Games. Free-to-play? Sign me up! I’m always on the lookout for great games that don’t require spending a lot of money, and FragPunk seemed to fit the bill perfectly.
I got all hyped up when I saw it was also coming to PS5. I mean, finding good new games for the PS5 that fits my budget is not easy. Most of my gaming is on the PS5, so this was big news for me. I went online and did some digging, looking for anything I could find on PS5 games. This one really stood out.
Now, the release date. Initially, I saw some buzz about it being a PC thing, but then, bam! March 6, 2025, is the date for PS5. I immediately marked it on my calendar. Before that, there was talk about an Xbox Summer Games Showcase in June 2024, then a closed alpha and beta. I missed out on those, unfortunately, but hearing about them only made me more eager.
So, what did I do? I waited. And waited. Finally, the day came, and there it was on the PlayStation Store. Downloaded it immediately, of course. The fact that it’s free-to-play is amazing. I jumped right in, ready to see what all the fuss was about.
The gameplay? Man, it’s intense! The five-versus-five matches are fast-paced and super engaging. I spent hours just playing through matches, trying out different heroes, and getting a feel for the game. It’s definitely one of those games where you lose track of time.
The best part? It’s free and accessible to everyone. Whether you’re on Steam, PlayStation 5, or Xbox, you can get in on the action. I’ve been telling all my friends about it, and we’ve been having a blast playing together.
