Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this Fresno State vs. Eastern Washington game prediction thing. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you. I started off pretty clueless, just looking at the game on the schedule. Week 2, Saturday – that’s all I knew.
First thing I did was hit up some sports site, and they had a predicted final score already. I thought, “Well, that’s easy.” But then I dug a little deeper. I found this other place talking about using a “market maker sportsbook.” I’m not even sure what that is, but it sounded fancy, so I kept it in mind.
Then I started looking at the odds and lines, you know, the betting stuff. I saw something about a “Money Line” for Eastern Washington, and a bunch of numbers that didn’t make much sense to me. There were these L 67-68, 3/11, -580 things… it was like a foreign language. I just wanted to know who was going to win!
I also found some history on these two teams playing each other. Looked important, so I took note of that. There was also a schedule, showing when they played and who they played against. It got confusing real quick, with all these teams and scores.
I even stumbled upon a place where they let you predict the game yourself! I spent some time, punched in some numbers, I had to guess, I don’t know these teams that well. I was just hoping for the best, honestly. I kept seeing that Fresno had a good chance to win, 82.7% chance to be exact. Sounded good to me.
I also found that they were playing at Valley Children’s Stadium, so I figured that might give Fresno an edge.
So, after all this, what did I come up with? Well, it looks like Fresno State is the favorite to win. I don’t know by how much, but most of what I saw pointed to them coming out on top. It wasn’t easy getting to this point, though. There’s a lot of information out there, and it’s not always easy to make sense of it all. I think I spent a good few hours on this, all for a simple prediction.
It’s all a bit of a mess, but it was a fun little project. Maybe I’ll try this again sometime, but for now, I’m sticking with Fresno State for the win.

Final Thoughts
In the end, I realized that predicting sports games isn’t as simple as it seems. But hey, I learned a few things along the way, and I’m pretty confident in my final pick. Go Bulldogs!
