Okay, here’s my story about getting that Mikey tattoo:
Man, getting this Mikey tattoo was a whole thing. First off, I spent weeks, maybe even months, just thinking about what I wanted. I mean, this thing’s gonna be on me forever, right? So, no pressure. I knew I wanted Mikey, ’cause, you know, he’s the best. But what style? What pose? It was a lot to think about.
So, I started looking around, checking out different tattoo artists in my area. I went through tons of portfolios online, trying to find someone whose style I liked. It was a pain, I’m not gonna lie. But I finally found this one guy, Pierre, who seemed to do some good work. I checked out his previous works, and I felt like his style was right for me.
I reached out to him, and we set up a consultation. I brought in a bunch of reference images, pictures of Mikey, some other tattoos I liked, that kind of stuff. He was super chill, listened to all my ideas, and even gave me some suggestions I hadn’t thought of. We talked about size, placement, all that jazz. By the end of it, I felt pretty good. We booked the appointment, and I was stoked.
Now, the waiting was the hardest part. I was so hyped, but I also wanted to make sure I was prepared. I read somewhere that you should eat a good meal before going in, so I made sure to do that. I also made sure I was well-hydrated, ’cause that’s supposed to help with the pain and healing and whatnot.
Finally, the day arrived. I showed up to the shop, Inkestry Custom Tattoos, a little nervous but mostly excited. The place was clean, which was good, and everyone was pretty friendly. I met with Pierre, we went over the design one last time, and then it was go time.
The Tattooing Process
- First, he cleaned the area where the tattoo was gonna go, shaved it, all that stuff.
- Then he put the stencil on, and we made sure it was in the right spot. I probably made him adjust it, like, five times, but he was cool about it.
- Once the stencil was on, he started with the outline. That was probably the worst part, pain-wise. It felt like a bunch of little needles scratching me. Not fun, but bearable.
- After the outline, he started filling in the color. That part wasn’t as bad, more like a burning sensation.
- The whole thing took a few hours, and I gotta say, I was pretty relieved when it was over. My skin was definitely feeling it.
Pierre gave me some instructions on how to take care of it, what kind of ointment to use, how often to wash it, all that. It was a lot to remember, but I made sure to follow everything to a T. I wanted this thing to heal right.
The first few days, the tattoo was pretty sore and swollen. It was kind of a pain to sleep, ’cause I had to make sure I wasn’t putting any pressure on it. But after a week or so, it started to feel better. It itched like crazy during the healing process, which was probably the most annoying part. But I resisted the urge to scratch, ’cause that’s a big no-no.
Now, a few weeks later, it’s all healed up, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. It looks even better than I imagined. Pierre did an amazing job, and I’m definitely going back to him for my next one. Yeah, I’m already thinking about my next tattoo. It’s addictive, man.
