Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into EA Sports FC 24 lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I decided to focus my Ultimate Team efforts on building a squad around Luis Suárez. Yeah, that guy, the Uruguayan legend, currently playing as a striker for American club Inter Miami.
First things first, I needed to actually get my hands on him. I started hitting the transfer market, scouting for a good deal. After a bit of searching, I finally snagged him up. Man, it felt good to see him in my club. Then came the real fun – experimenting with formations and tactics to see where he shines the brightest.
Figuring Out the Formation
I started with the classic 4-4-2, thinking a two-striker setup would be ideal. It wasn’t bad, but Suárez wasn’t quite hitting his stride. So, I switched things up to a 4-3-3. A bit better, he was getting more involved, but I still felt like I was missing something. Then I read something somewhere about the 5-3-2 formation. I thought, “Five at the back? Sounds a bit defensive, doesn’t it?” But the article mentioned that the wing-backs and the left and right midfielders can push forward to support the attack. Sounded interesting, so I gave it a shot.
I have to say that 5-3-2 wasn’t what I wanted. This old dog still has some bite! I spent hours tweaking custom tactics, player instructions, you name it. Finally, I landed on a 4-1-2-1-2 (diamond) setup. I’d heard it could be tough to counter, especially when you exploit the wide areas since the formation is quite narrow. Someone online described it as a “tactical masterpiece” if you use it right. I figured, why not? I slapped a “Hunter” chemistry style on him to boost his pace and shooting, and boy, did it make a difference!
Building the Squad
With the formation sorted, I focused on building a squad around him. My budget was around 300k, including the cost of Suárez. I wanted a mix of solid defenders, creative midfielders, and pacey wingers to feed him the ball. It took some serious market wheeling and dealing, but I managed to put together a pretty decent team. I even managed to use some of those new Evolution cards to upgrade a few players, which was pretty cool.
The Results
So, how did it all pan out? Honestly, it was awesome! Suárez in that 4-1-2-1-2 formation, with the right players around him, is an absolute beast. He’s banging in goals left and right, his link-up play is fantastic, and he’s just a joy to use in-game. I even started climbing the ranks in Division Rivals, which was a nice bonus. There were some frustrations for sure.
- First, getting the right chemistry links between players was a headache at times.
- Second, some matches were just brutal, especially against those meta teams with overpowered players.
- Third, the gameplay can be a bit inconsistent sometimes, which is always annoying.
But overall, building this Suárez squad has been one of my most enjoyable experiences in FC 24. It just goes to show that you don’t always need the most meta players to have fun and be successful. Sometimes, it’s all about finding the right formation, tactics, and chemistry to make your favorite players shine. And let me tell you, watching Suárez score a screamer in the 90th minute to win a crucial match is a feeling that’s hard to beat!
