Okay, so today I decided to mess around with something called “Juncheng Shang prediction.” I’d seen some buzz about this kid, and I was curious if I could figure out any patterns in his matches. I’m no expert, just a guy who likes to tinker with data and see what shakes out.

Getting Started
First things first, I needed some data. Where to get match results? After fumbling around, I collected a bunch of information. I’m talking match dates, opponents, scores, the whole nine yards. It was a bit of a pain, honestly, copy-pasting stuff into a spreadsheet. There’s gotta be a better way to do this, but hey, it got the job done.
Cleaning Up the Mess
Once I had all this data, it was a total mess. Different formats, missing info, you name it. So, I spent a good chunk of time just cleaning things up. Standardizing dates, making sure names were consistent, filling in the blanks where I could. This part is always tedious, but it’s super important. You can’t build anything on shaky foundations, right?
- Make the date formate consistent.
- Checking the missing opponent data.
- Figuring out some missing score.
Trying to Find Patterns
Now for the fun part (or at least, what I thought would be the fun part). I started trying to find some patterns. Did he win more on certain days of the week? Did he struggle against lefties? I played around with simple calculations, trying to see if anything jumped out.
Reality Check
To be honest, I didn’t find much. Maybe a slight tendency to win more on certain days, but nothing that screamed “breakthrough!” I think I needed way more data, and probably some fancier tools than my trusty spreadsheet. It’s like trying to predict the weather with a thermometer – you’re missing a lot of the picture.
Lessons Learned
So, did I crack the code of Juncheng Shang’s future performance? Nope. But did I learn something? Definitely. I got a better handle on where to find data, realized the importance of cleaning it up, and got a taste of how much more I need to learn about data analysis. It was a fun little experiment, even if it didn’t yield any earth-shattering results. Maybe next time I’ll try something a little less ambitious, or maybe I’ll just stick to watching the matches and enjoying them for what they are.
