Alright, so the other day I was watching the Chiefs game, and that crack in Patrick Mahomes’ helmet got me thinking – what’s the deal with that helmet? How much does it cost? Can I get one for myself? So, I started digging around.
First, I tried to figure out what kind of helmet Mahomes actually wears. Turns out, it’s this thing called the VICIS ZERO2. Apparently, it’s a pretty big deal. TIME magazine even called it one of the best inventions of 2021. Fancy, huh?
Next, I wanted to see how much this bad boy costs. I headed over to the VICIS website, and guess what? The latest Zero2 QB Elite Helmet is priced at a whopping $899.99! I mean, that’s almost a grand for a helmet! I started to think, “maybe it is not a good idea, man.”
But I wasn’t giving up that easily. I kept searching for cheaper options. I found out that this company Riddell sells some helmets that look similar. Maybe I could snag one of those and pretend I’m Mahomes, right?
Then, I got curious about those autographed helmets. You know, the ones with Mahomes’ signature on them. I checked out this site called Steiner Sports, and they had a bunch of them. Signed, unsigned, you name it. I even found some full-size replicas on some other online stores. The price varies depending on whether it is signed, how many signatures, etc. These are really expensive. I guess it is because of Mahomes’ signature.
But here’s the kicker – I also learned that customizing a helmet can cost anywhere from $200 to $1,000! The more custom you want it, the more you gotta pay. It’s crazy how much goes into these things.
So, after all this digging, I realized a few things:
- Mahomes’ helmet, the VICIS ZERO2, is top-of-the-line and costs a pretty penny around 500 dollars.
- You can find similar-looking helmets for a bit cheaper, but they won’t be the exact same.
- Autographed helmets are cool, but they’ll set you back a good chunk of change.
- Customizing a helmet can get really expensive, depending on what you want.
In the end, I decided that I don’t need a fancy helmet like Mahomes, but it was fun learning all about it. Maybe one day, I will buy a signed helmet as a collection when I have more money, haha! Anyway, that’s my little helmet adventure. Hope you found it interesting!
