So, I learned that these “majors” are the big deal tournaments. We’ve got the Masters, the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open, and the British Open. These are the ones everyone wants to win.
Jack Nicklaus
I kept digging, and one name kept popping up: Jack Nicklaus. Apparently, this guy is a legend. Everyone talks about him like he’s the gold standard. I saw that he’s got the most major wins. That’s impressive!
But it wasn’t just about the number of wins. I found out that there was this other guy, Bobby Jones, who won all four majors in a single year, way back in 1930. Can you believe that? After that, he quit professional golf to do law! But he did come back to help with the Masters later on. It’s wild!

- I read that only 16 golfers have ever done it with the British Open being one of them.
- In 2024, up to now, there’s this guy Scottie Scheffler who’s won some majors, but I guess we have to wait to see if he wins another to join the two-in-a-year club.
