Okay, so today I decided to tackle this “hell crossword” thing. I’d heard about it, seen some screenshots, and figured, “Why not? Sounds like a fun little challenge.” Boy, was I in for a ride.

Getting Started
First things first, I needed to actually find the puzzle. I did some quick searching and it popped right up. It was this massive grid, I mean, HUGE. It looked super intimidating at first glance. I printed it out because, call me old-fashioned, I like having a physical copy to work with.
The Struggle is Real
I grabbed a pencil (always a pencil for crosswords, you gotta be able to erase!), and dove in. I started with what I thought were the easy ones, the short words, the obvious clues. You know, the ones that jump out at you. I filled in a few here and there, feeling pretty good about myself.
Then… the wall. I hit a point where I was just staring blankly at the clues. Nothing. My brain was fried. I’d read the same clue five times and still had no idea what it was asking for. Some of these clues were seriously twisted. I was like I don’t have any idea what I am doing.
Little Victories
I took a break, got some coffee, and came back with a fresh perspective. I started looking for patterns, connections between the clues and the few words I had already filled in. Slowly, painfully, I started chipping away at it. I’d get one word, then another, and suddenly, a whole section would start to open up.
- Those little “aha!” moments were the best. It was like this tiny surge of victory, a little dopamine hit.
- I even used some online crossword solvers, don’t judge me! Sometimes you just need a little nudge in the right direction.
Finally Done(I think)
I was drawing, erasing, swearing under my breath. It felt like playing a hard-level game.

After several hours (maybe more, I lost track of time), I finally filled in the last square. I leaned back, looked at the completed puzzle, and let out a huge sigh of relief. Did I get every single word right? Honestly, I’m not 100% sure. There were a few guesses in there, a few stretches of the imagination.
But I did it. I finished the “hell crossword.” It was a brutal, frustrating, and ultimately satisfying experience.
Would I do it again? Probably not anytime soon. But hey, at least I can say I conquered the beast. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need a nap.
