Okay, so I was messing around in Honor of Kings today, trying to figure out this whole reflect damage thing. Specifically, I wanted to know if the damage you bounce back at someone actually reduces the damage you take. You know, like, does it act like a damage reduction buff, or is it just a separate thing?

So, first, I jumped into a custom game. Gotta have control over everything, right? I picked a hero with some decent armor, just to make sure I wouldn’t, like, instantly explode.
The Experiment Begins
I set up a dummy enemy hero and gave it some serious attack damage. My plan was simple: let it whack me, see how much damage I take, and then see how much it takes from the reflect. I made sure to note my hero’s starting health and armor stats.
Then, I bought an item that reflects damage. In Honor of Kings, there are a couple of these, but they all basically do the same thing: send a percentage of the damage you take back to the attacker.
- First Test: I just stood there and let the enemy dummy beat on me. I watched my health bar carefully, writing down the numbers.
- Second Test: This is where it gets the damage reflect, checking if it reduces the damage.
Crunching the Numbers
After a few rounds of getting punched in the face (virtually, of course!), I had some numbers to look at. I compared the damage I took before equipping the reflect item to the damage I took after. I also looked at how much damage the enemy dummy was taking from the reflect.
And, what did I find the answer? Drumroll please…

The reflected damage is a separate thing from the damage. So no, I can’t reduce the damage but just the damage reflect.
So, basically, reflecting damage is cool and all, but it’s not gonna make you any tankier. It’s more like a “punish you for hitting me” kind of thing. Good to know, right? Now I can go back to actually playing the game instead of just getting beat up by a dummy. It’s practice for sharing, hopefully, someone else finds this useful!
