Okay, let’s talk about Mateusz Gamrot. I’ve been following this guy for a while now, and let me tell you, he’s a beast in the UFC lightweight division. I mean, this guy’s got a record that speaks for itself. We’re talking 24 wins, 3 losses, and 0 draws. That’s pretty darn impressive if you ask me.
So, I started digging into his stats. First thing I did was check out his UFC profile. It listed everything – his wins, losses, height, weight, the whole nine yards. I saw that he’s 5’10” and walks around at 155 lbs. Pretty standard for a lightweight, but it’s how he uses that frame that’s interesting.
Next, I wanted to see who he’s been fighting. I went through the list of his opponents. Noticed a few big names there – Rafael Dos Anjos, Rafael Fiziev, Jalin Turner. These aren’t pushovers, these are top-tier fighters. And Gamrot’s been winning against them. I noticed he was on a three-fight winning streak that got snapped recently by Dan Hooker, though.
- Checked Gamrot’s record: 24-3-0 (1 NC)
- Looked up his height and weight: 5’10”, 155 lbs
- Reviewed his recent opponents: Dan Hooker, Rafael Dos Anjos, Rafael Fiziev, Jalin Turner
I also found out he’s a former KSW Featherweight and Lightweight Champion. That’s a big deal in the European MMA scene. He’s ranked #8 in the UFC lightweight rankings as of November 19, 2024. You don’t get to that level without some serious skills.
Then I started looking at how he wins his fights. Out of those 24 wins, 8 are by knockout, and 5 by submission. But what really caught my eye was his wrestling. The guy’s a monster on the ground. I guess that’s what happens when you train at American Top Team. They’re known for producing some of the best wrestlers and grapplers in the sport.
Training and Style
Speaking of American Top Team, that’s where Gamrot trains. It’s in Coconut Creek, Florida. I looked it up, and it seems like a pretty intense place. They’ve got some of the best coaches and fighters in the world there. No wonder Gamrot’s so good.
His next fight is set for February 1st. I’ll definitely be watching that one. I’m curious to see how he bounces back after that loss to Hooker. It was a split decision, so it’s not like he got dominated or anything. But still, a loss is a loss.
In the end, tracking Mateusz Gamrot’s record and his journey was pretty fun. It’s always interesting to see how these fighters evolve and improve over time. He’s definitely one to watch in the lightweight division. I’m excited to see what he does next. Will keep you guys posted on that February 1st fight for sure. If you are a fan of MMA, you should totally check him out. You won’t be disappointed.
