So, I got this idea in my head a while back. I kept hearing about this young basketball player, Alex Sarr. Saw some clips, read some articles about him being a top prospect for the draft, playing over in Australia. Something just clicked, and I thought, you know what, I want to get his jersey. Not an NBA one, because he wasn’t there yet, but his actual team jersey from Down Under. Kind of a cool thing to have, I figured.

Starting the Hunt
Alright, so phase one was figuring out where to even look. My usual spots for sports gear obviously didn’t have it. This wasn’t like grabbing a LeBron jersey off the rack. He played for the Perth Wildcats in the NBL. That meant I had to go looking specifically for Australian league stuff.
My first steps involved a lot of searching online:
- Checked the big international sports apparel sites – no dice.
- Looked for NBL specific stores – found the official league store.
- Drilled down to the Perth Wildcats team store itself – bingo! That seemed like the most direct route.
Navigating the Aussie Store
Found the Wildcats’ official online shop. Okay, website looked decent. Now, the real task: finding Sarr’s jersey. They had the standard team jerseys, naturally. I poked around for a bit. Didn’t see his name listed right away on a pre-made one, which wasn’t a huge surprise. Sometimes they only stock the big local stars.
But, they had an option for customizing jerseys. Perfect. That was my path forward. I selected the Wildcats jersey style I liked best. Then came the customization part. Typed in SARR for the name. Looked up his number – pretty sure he wore #20 for them. Punched that in. Double-checked the spelling and number. You don’t want to mess that up after all this effort.
Next hurdle: sizing. International sizing can be tricky, but I just went with my usual size and hoped for the best based on their size chart. Then the checkout. Had to deal with Australian dollars, obviously. Did a quick mental conversion to figure out the real cost. Shipping was another thing – international shipping isn’t cheap, and I knew it would take a while. But hey, I was committed at this point. Put in my details, paid up, and got the confirmation email.

The Waiting Game and Arrival
And then, I waited. You know how it is with international packages. It’s not exactly next-day delivery. Tracked it a few times, saw it making its slow journey across the globe. Took maybe two, three weeks? Can’t recall exactly. Long enough that I kind of forgot about it for a bit.
Finally, the package showed up at my door. Felt pretty good opening it up. Pulled out the jersey. The quality was nice, felt authentic. Seeing SARR #20 on the back of that Perth Wildcats jersey felt like a small victory. Mission accomplished. It’s neat having something a bit different, connected to a player right before they hopefully make it big in the league. Just a little piece of that journey, sitting in my closet now.
