Alright, so the other day in clan chat, we got talking about throwers again. You know, Bowlers. Someone was saying they’re tricky now, someone else swore by ’em. So I figured, heck, let me run a few attacks myself, see what’s what. Called it my own little ‘Thrower Throwdown’ practice session.

Getting Started
First thing, I cooked up an army. Went heavy on the Bowlers, like, a LOT of them. Threw in some Healers to keep ’em kicking, you know, the usual walk idea. Filled the rest with a few funnel troops, maybe some wizards or baby dragons? Can’t remember exactly, just wanted bodies to clear the sides.
Spells were pretty standard stuff:
- Rage spells, obviously. Gotta make those rocks bounce hard.
- Heal spells, for when things got messy.
- A Jump spell, just in case the pathing got weird or walls were annoying.
- Maybe a Poison for their Clan Castle troops, or a Freeze.
The Attack Runs
Okay, army ready. Went looking for a base. Didn’t want to waste war attacks, so I hit up multiplayer first. Found a decent Town Hall layout, looked like a good test subject.
Started the attack. Dropped my Queen on one side with healers, maybe the King on the other to make a path, create that funnel. Waited a bit… maybe too long? Nerves, I guess. Then dumped the main Bowler squad right down the middle, maybe behind a Golem or Ice Golem I decided to add last minute. Dropped the Warden with them, set to air.
Man, it got wild fast. Dropped a Rage, then a Jump to get them into the core. Those Bowlers just started tearing stuff up. Rocks bouncing everywhere, hitting buildings behind the first layer. Pretty cool to watch when it works.

Had a bit of a panic moment on one try when they split around the Town Hall, half went one way, half the other. Dropped a Heal spell on the bigger group. The Queen walk part usually went okay, she took out a chunk.
Final Thoughts
So, the first few tries in multiplayer? Got like, high percentage two stars mostly. Maybe one low three star on a weaker base. Not bad, but not amazing either. The funnel wasn’t always perfect, that’s probably why they split sometimes. Ran it a couple more times on friendly challenges later against clanmates.
Learned a few things from this practice. You gotta be patient with the funnel. Really clear those outside buildings good before sending in the main force. And spell timing is super important. Drop that Rage too early, it’s wasted. Too late, your Bowlers are toast before they get going.
Overall, was fun messing around with the ‘Thrower Throwdown’. Bowlers still pack a punch if you handle ’em right and give them a good path. Gonna keep practicing with them I think. Maybe tweak the support troops a bit next time, try different combinations. Still got some work to do to make it reliable.
