Okay, folks, let’s talk about how I got into Alpha 2 of Ashes of Creation. It’s been quite a journey, so grab a drink, settle in, and let me tell you all about it.
First off, I had to figure out when I could actually jump into the game. Turns out, it depended on when and how you got access to Alpha Two. For me, it started on October 25th. They were running tests for five or more days a week. I remember looking up the schedule, I found some info, but it wasn’t clear, man.
Now, if you’ve bought a package that gives you Alpha Two access or somehow got it through a giveaway, you’re in luck. I did buy a package. I went straight to the Ashes of Creation website and downloaded the installer for something called the Intrepid Launcher. Ran the installer, got the Launcher up and running, and then used it to install the game. Easy peasy, right?
But here’s where it gets a bit tricky. Depending on what bundle you have, the access dates are different. Alpha-2 phase 1 bundles? Those guys got to test on weekends starting November 8, 2024. Alpha-2 phase 2 folks got week-long tests from December 20, 2024. And if you’re like me with an Alpha-2 phase 3 bundle, we’re talking 24/7 access from May 1st, 2025, all the way to launch. Patience is a virtue, they say.
Oh, and a big plus – there’s no NDA (non-disclosure agreement) for Alpha-1, Alpha-2, Beta-1, and Beta-2 releases. That means we can share our experiences, which is awesome! Alpha-2 phase 1 with no NDA kicked off on October 25th.
My Experience So Far
So, I finally got in. Before launching the game, I made sure to send my logs. I heard it’s important, and there’s a way to find and send them. They say it helps get updates quicker, so why not, right?
The game itself? Man, it’s something else. I’ve been exploring, fighting, crafting, and just soaking it all in. The world is massive and there’s so much to do. I’ve met some cool people along the way, teamed up for some quests, and even got into a few skirmishes.
- Exploration: The world is huge and there’s always something new to discover.
- Combat: Feels pretty good, but I’m still getting the hang of it.
- Crafting: I’ve made some basic gear, but there’s a lot to learn here.
- Community: Met some great people, and everyone’s been helpful.
It’s still early days, and there are definitely some bugs and rough edges, but that’s what testing is all about. I’m excited to see how the game evolves and to be a part of it.
That’s my story so far. If you’re also in Alpha Two, let me know how it’s going for you. And if you’re waiting to get in, hang tight – it’s worth the wait!
