Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my little adventures. Today’s topic is something I stumbled upon while trying to kill some time – a crossword puzzle with the clue “one is used in basketball but not in hockey”.
So, I grabbed my phone and opened up the daily crossword puzzle. I always start with the easier clues, you know, to get the ball rolling. Filled in a few, feeling pretty good, and then bam! I hit this clue: “one is used in basketball but not in hockey”. My mind just went blank.
Brainstorming Time
- I started thinking about what’s used in basketball but not in hockey. Thought about the court, the hoop, the ball… but those didn’t seem to fit in with the crossword.
- Then, I tried to picture a basketball game. Players dribbling, passing, shooting… and I thought “wait a minute, a basketball game is played with a shot clock, but there is no clock in hockey.”
Rushed back to the puzzle and checked the number of letters. “SHOT CLOCK”! It fit perfectly! I typed it in, and the letters turned green.
Man, that was a good feeling. I finished up the rest of the puzzle, feeling like a champ. Just goes to show, sometimes the answer is right in front of you, you just gotta look at it from a different angle.
Anyway, that’s my little story for today. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Catch you all in the next one!
