Okay, so I wanted to get into the nitty-gritty of Firefly relics in Honkai Star Rail. I’ve been messing around with different builds, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey.

Figuring out the Basics
First, I dug around for some basic info. Firefly, she is a fire-type damage dealer, and is all about that Break Effect, right?
My First Attempt – Just Throwing Stuff Together
Initially, I just slapped on whatever relics I had with decent Break Effect substats. I was like, “Yeah, that should work, right?” It kinda did, but it wasn’t anything special. My Firefly’s damage was okay, but not “blow-your-mind” amazing.
Diving Deeper – The Thief Set?
- I started reading some guides and forum posts. Many players are talking about Thief of Shooting Meteor.
- Two-piece bonus seemed great, +16% Break Effect.
- I farmed a few of those, found that I was pretty short on the set.
Experimenting with Combinations
Then I thought, “What if I mix and match?” Maybe a two-piece Thief with something else? I had some random pieces from other sets lying around.
- I tried 2-piece Thief with a 2-piece of the Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations set.
- I found out that Watchmaker also gives another +16% Break effect.
This setup felt a little better! My Break damage was definitely higher, and I was starting to see some bigger numbers.
Refining the Stats
Getting the right main stats and substats is a pain. I spent hours just running the same domains, hoping for that perfect piece. I was mostly looking for:

- Break Effect (obviously!)
- SPD (gotta go fast)
- Some ATK% for good measure
The Results (So Far!)
After all that grinding and experimenting, I’ve got a Firefly build that I’m pretty happy with. She’s hitting hard, especially when breaking enemies. Still, I know there’s always room for improvement. Might try to find an Iron Cavalry set later, if I have spare stamina.
The grind never really ends, does it? But hey, that’s part of the fun! At least, that’s what I tell myself when I’m on my 100th run of the same domain…
