So, I’ve been getting into tennis lately, and everyone’s been talking about Iga Swiatek’s racket. I figured, “Hey, if it’s good enough for a world number one, it’s gotta be worth a try, right?” So, I decided to take the plunge and see what all the fuss was about.

First, I looked up what she actually uses. Turns out, it’s the Tecnifibre Tempo 298 Iga. Pretty straightforward, huh?
Getting My Hands on One
I started by checking out a few local sports stores, no luck. Most places had some Tecnifibre rackets, but not the one. Eventually, I found one in a store. I was almost ready to use it immeditatly.
First Impressions
The first thing I noticed when I picked it up was the weight. It felt solid, but not too heavy. The grip felt pretty good too, though I’m used to something a bit thicker. I did a few shadow swings in my living room (carefully, avoiding the lamps) and it felt pretty balanced.
- Weight: Good balance, not too heavy.
- Grip: Felt a little different, but comfortable.
- Swing: Felt smooth during shadow swings.
Hitting the Courts
Okay, time for the real test. I booked a court with my buddy, who’s way better than me, so I knew I’d get a good workout. The first few shots felt… different. I was definitely hitting the ball with more power, but my control was all over the place. I sent a few balls flying over the fence – oops!
I spent a good hour just trying to get used to it. I focused on my forehand, then my backhand, then some serves. Slowly but surely, I started to get a feel for the racket. It definitely rewarded good technique – when I hit the ball cleanly, it went exactly where I wanted it to, and with some serious pace.

The Verdict (So Far)
After a few sessions, I’m still not sure if it’s the perfect racket for me, but I’m definitely seeing the potential. It’s forced me to be more precise with my shots, and I think that’s a good thing. I’m hitting the ball harder, that’s for sure. I need to improve my ability to control direction.I might experiment with different strings or maybe add some lead tape to customize it a bit.
It’s a journey, not a destination, right? I’ll keep practicing and see if I can channel my inner Iga. Maybe one day I’ll even win a point or two against my buddy!
