Alright, alright, let’s talk about this fella, Jerome Ford. Should you start him? Well, that’s what everyone’s buzzin’ about, ain’t it? Folks keep askin’, so I figured I’d put in my two cents.
Now, I ain’t no fancy football expert, mind you. I just watch the games and see what’s what. And from what I see, this Ford fella, he’s a bit of a mixed bag. Some folks say he’s good, some say he ain’t. It’s all a big ol’ guessing game if you ask me.
What Them Fantasy Folks Say
I hear tell that those fantasy football fellas, they got all sorts of numbers and whatnot. They say Ford is ranked somewhere in the 40s for running backs. Forty-somethin’, huh? Sounds kinda middlin’ to me. They say he gets about five or six fantasy points a game. Well, that ain’t much to write home about, is it?
But then again, I hear some other folks sayin’ he’s gonna get more points. They got these projections, see? Sayin’ he might get close to eight points a game. Now, eight points, that’s a bit better. But it all depends on who he’s playin’ against, I reckon.
- Playing Time: Is he gonna get to play much? That’s the big question. If that other fella, Chubb, is playin’, then Ford don’t get much of a chance. He’s like the backup, you know? Waitin’ on the sidelines till the main guy gets tired.
- Opponent: Who’s he playin’ against? Some teams are tough, some ain’t. If he’s playin’ against a tough team, he might not do so good. If he’s playin’ against a bunch of ol’ softies, then maybe he’ll get some good runs in.
- Injuries: Is he hurtin’? If he’s got a bum leg or somethin’, then he ain’t gonna be runnin’ too fast, that’s for sure. Gotta keep an eye on them injury reports, they say.
What I Think
Now, like I said, I ain’t no expert. But here’s what I see. Ford, he’s a young fella, still got a lot to learn. He can run fast, that’s for sure. I’ve seen him make some good runs, dodgin’ and weavin’ like a squirrel in the woods. But he also fumbles the ball sometimes, and that ain’t good. Can’t be droppin’ the ball, no sir.
So, Should You Start Him?
Well, it depends. If you ain’t got nobody better, then maybe you gotta go with Ford. He’s better than nothin’, I guess. But if you got some other fellas on your team who are playin’ good, then maybe you should start them instead. It’s all about takin’ a chance, see? Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. That’s just how it goes.
I tell you what, them fantasy fellas, they make it sound so complicated. All them numbers and projections, it makes my head spin. Me, I just look at it simple. Is the fella runnin’ good? Is he gettin’ the ball? Is he healthy? If the answer is yes to all them questions, then maybe he’s worth a start. If not, then maybe you should look elsewhere.
The Bottom Line
Ford, he’s a gamble. He might have a good game, he might have a bad game. You gotta make a choice, and sometimes you just gotta go with your gut. Don’t let them fancy fellas with their numbers confuse you too much. Just watch the games, see what you see, and make the best decision you can. That’s all you can do, ain’t it?
And one more thing, don’t go blamin’ me if he don’t do good! I’m just tellin’ you what I think. It’s your team, you make the call. Good luck to ya, and I hope your fella runs wild!
One Last Thing to Remember
Ford is mostly a handcuff to Chubb, meaning he only gets real playing time if Chubb gets hurt. If Chubb is playing, Ford’s just an emergency backup, not someone you want to start unless you absolutely have to. So, keep an eye on Chubb’s status. If he’s playing, think twice about starting Ford. If Chubb is out, well, then Ford might be your best bet, even if he is a bit of a gamble.
