Alright, so I decided to spend some time figuring out Karlach. Got her into my party, wanted to see what the fuss was about.

First thing, she’s a Barbarian right off the bat. Big axe, lots of shouting. Seemed straightforward enough. Ran around with her for a bit, mostly just having her hit things hard. She seemed pretty tough, could take a hit which was nice.
Then came leveling her up. She gets this thing called Reckless Attack pretty early on. Basically, I could choose to give her a better chance to hit, but enemies also got a better chance to hit her. Used it quite a bit when I really needed to make sure an attack landed. Felt like a fair trade most of the time, especially since she’s got decent health.
Picking a Path
Got her to level 3, and then it was time to pick a proper subclass. The game gave me a few choices for her Barbarian path. I remember looking at these options:
- Wildheart
- Berserker
- Wild Magic (I think that was the third one?)
I messed around with Berserker for a while. Seemed fitting, you know? Go completely nuts in a fight. It adds this Frenzy thing instead of the normal Rage. Lets you make an extra attack with your bonus action, which is great for damage. But, doing that leaves her tired afterwards, gets this strained condition, which was a bit annoying to manage sometimes. Still, hitting things twice in a turn felt pretty good.
So, yeah, mostly kept her as a Berserker. Just involved a lot of clicking Rage, then Frenzy, then pointing her at the nearest enemy and watching the numbers fly. She definitely pulls her weight in a fight, just gotta watch out for that exhaustion thing after the big battles.

Overall, playing with her was pretty direct. Point, click, smash. Simple, but effective. Fits her personality, I guess.
