Okay, so today I messed around with something kinda funny – ever heard of Khamzat Chimaev? That UFC fighter, the one with the epic beard? Well, I was scrolling through TikTok and saw this video by a guy named Mohamed, and he was showing off Khamzat…without his beard! I did a double-take, seriously. It got me thinking, “What if I try to recreate this?” I had to see it for myself, like, in a way I could play around with.
First, I grabbed a bunch of photos of Khamzat off the internet. You know, the usual ones where he’s looking all tough and ready to fight. Then, I fired up Photoshop. Now, I’m no pro at this, but I know the basics. I started by using the lasso tool – carefully outlining that thick beard of his. It was kinda tricky, had to zoom in real close to get all those little details right.
- Found a clear image of Khamzat
- Opened it in Photoshop
- Used the lasso tool to outline the beard
Once I had the beard selected, I hit delete. Poof! Just like that, it was gone. But it left this weird, blank space, you know? So, I had to get creative. I used the clone stamp tool – that thing is a lifesaver. I started sampling skin from his cheeks and chin and carefully painted over the blank area. Had to make sure the skin tones matched, otherwise, it would’ve looked super fake.
- Deleted the beard selection
- Used the clone stamp tool to fill in the space
- Matched the skin tones carefully
It took a while, going back and forth, smoothing things out. I even used the blur tool a bit to blend the edges, so it didn’t look like I just chopped off his beard with scissors. I wanted it to look somewhat natural, like he just decided to shave one day.
- Smoothed out the area with the blur tool
- Blended the edges for a natural look
After a good hour or so, I finally got something I was kinda happy with. Khamzat Chimaev, clean-shaven! It was so weird seeing him like that. He looked…different, younger almost. I saved the picture and just stared at it for a while, laughing to myself. It’s funny how much a beard can change a person’s look, right?
- Saved the final image
- Compared it to the original
The Final Look
Man, it was a fun little experiment. I showed it to a couple of my buddies, and they were tripping out. They couldn’t believe it was the same guy. I even posted it on my Instagram story, and I got a bunch of DMs asking if it was real. It was just a silly Photoshop job, but it was cool to see how much of a difference it made. Maybe I’ll try it with other bearded celebs, who knows? It’s all in good fun, anyway.
So, yeah, that’s how I spent my afternoon – giving Khamzat Chimaev a digital shave. It wasn’t about being perfect, just about having a laugh and seeing what I could do with some basic Photoshop skills. And you know what? It turned out pretty darn interesting!
