You know that Khamzat Chimaev, he’s a tough one, ain’t he? And that Paulo Costa, he’s a big fella. They say they gonna fight. Big fight, I tell ya. UFC 294, they call it. Sounds fancy, huh? October 21st. Mark that on your calendar, if you got one. If not, just remember it, like I do.
That Chimaev, he ain’t lost yet. Not a single time. Twelve fights, twelve wins. Like a, like a… well, like a train that just keeps on goin’. Can’t be stopped. He wrestles, you know? Gets you on the ground and that’s it. Done. Over. Finished. Heard he got rocked by this other fella, Burns. But he still won, right? He’s strong, very strong.
And this Costa, he hits hard. Like a mule kickin’. They say he’s got better “striking”. Whatever that means. Means he can punch and kick real good, I reckon. He throws a lot of them, too. Not just one big one. Lots of little ones. Like a swarm of bees. Buzz, buzz, sting, sting! He’s a big guy, too. Really big.
- Khamzat, he strong.
- Costa, he hits good.
- Both tough.
- Big fight.
Some folks, they sayin’ this ain’t a good fight for Chimaev. They say Costa’s too big, too strong. They say Costa can stop Chimaev from takin’ him down. That’s what they say. They call it TDD. Don’t ask me what it stands for. Just means he can stop the takedowns, I guess. Chimaev likes to wrestle, get you on the ground. But if Costa can keep it standin’, then maybe, just maybe, he can win. He can hit, that Costa.
Chimaev, he trains a lot. Five times a day, they say. Five! Can you believe it? When he ain’t got a fight, he only trains two or three times. Only! Hah! I’m tired just thinkin’ about it. He trains with that Till fella, too. Darren Till. Used to be in the UFC, that Till. They say they friends.
They was supposed to fight before, these two. Three times, they say. But it never happened. Something about that sickness, that COVID. Chimaev got real sick, they said. Couldn’t fight. Now they say Costa got somethin’ wrong with his elbow, but they still gonna fight, maybe.
Paulo Costa, he’s got that “secret juice”. What’s that? Don’t know, but sounds strong. Some people saying he ain’t gonna like it when Costa hits him. They say he’ll get hurt. But Chimaev, he’s tough. He don’t get hurt easy. I think Khamzat Chimaev vs Paulo Costa is going to be very exciting, yes.
This fight, it’s got everyone talkin’. Who’s gonna win? Chimaev? Costa? Hard to say. Some say Chimaev. Some say Costa. I don’t know. But I’ll be watchin’. Gonna be a good one. A real good one. You just wait and see.
Costa, he fights the same way every time, they say. Always the same. Like an old dog that can’t learn new tricks. Maybe that’s his problem. Chimaev, he’s different. He changes. He adapts. Like a, like a… well, like a fox. Sneaky. Smart.
- Fight was supposed to happen.
- Got sick.
- Now maybe elbow.
- Still gonna fight, probably.
This other fella, Henry Cejudo, he says Costa’s got a big fault. A big problem. Says he always fights the same. Predictable, they call it. Like you know what he’s gonna do before he even does it. That ain’t good in a fight. Gotta be able to surprise your opponent. Gotta be able to do something different. Something unexpected.
They talk a lot about this fight. Lots of talk. But talk is cheap, ain’t it? The real test is in the octagon. That’s where they’ll settle it. Man to man. Fist to fist. May the best man win, I say. May the best man win. And I hope it’s a good fight. A real barn burner, as they say. Yes, I am excited about this fight.
