I’ve been messing around with this Pokémon, Kommo-o, for a while now, trying to figure out the best way to use it. It’s a pretty cool Dragon/Fighting type, but it’s got some quirks. So, I started digging into what nature would work best for this beast.
What I Tried
First off, I went with an Adamant nature. You know, boost that Attack stat and make it hit like a truck. I loaded it up with moves like Clanging Scales, Close Combat, and some coverage stuff. It did hit hard, no doubt, but it felt kinda slow. Got outsped and knocked out a bunch of times before it could do much.
Then, I thought, maybe a Jolly nature would do the trick. Speed is king, right? This was definitely better in terms of getting the first hit in, but it just didn’t have the same oomph. It was like, “Yeah, I’m fast, but I’m just poking them, not really hurting them.”
I even dabbled with a Modest nature for a bit. Yeah, I know, special attacks on a physical attacker, sounds crazy. But I was thinking, “Hey, Clanging Scales is a special move, maybe I can make this work.” It was… interesting. Caught some people off guard, for sure. But it still wasn’t quite right.
The Revelation
So, after all that trial and error, I finally settled on Naive nature. It is just good. This boosts speed, and lowers its special defense. It is also one of the best natures for mixed Kommo-o, and it allows it to take advantage of its movepool very well.
- With Naive, Kommo-o can outspeed and use Clanging Scales, dealing high damage.
- Naive nature Kommo-o is also able to switch to physical attacks to take advantage of its ability.
With that nature, I can use it better. It just feels like the perfect balance. It gets the job done, simple as that.
Anyway, that’s my two cents on the whole Kommo-o nature debate. It’s been a journey, but I think I’ve finally cracked the code. Or at least, found what works best for me. If you’ve got any other ideas, I’m all ears. Always up for trying new things!
