Alright, let’s talk about them Lakers, you know, the basketball team. Folks keep askin’ me, who’s playin’ for them Lakers this year? Who’s good, who ain’t so good, that kinda thing. So, I figured I’d spell it out for ya, plain and simple, like I’m tellin’ ya over the fence.
Lakers Starters, Ya Know, the Main Guys
First off, ya got LeBron James. That fella, he’s been around a long time, still plays pretty good, though he ain’t as young as he used to be. He’s what they call a forward, big and strong, runs up and down the court. LeBron, he’s important, real important.
- LeBron James – Forward, you know, the big fella runs and shoots.
Then there’s Anthony Davis. Another big guy, plays center mostly, sometimes forward. Folks call him AD. He’s real tall, good at blockin’ shots and gettin’ rebounds, you know, catchin’ the ball when it bounces off the hoop. When he’s healthy, he’s a real game-changer, but sometimes, he gets hurt, and that’s no good.
- Anthony Davis – Center/Forward, tall guy, blocks shots, gets rebounds.
Now, at point guard, that’s the fella who brings the ball up the court, we got D’Angelo Russell. He’s alright, can shoot the ball pretty good sometimes, other times, not so much. He’s gotta be consistent, that’s what I say.
- D’Angelo Russell – Point Guard, brings the ball up, gotta be consistent.
Who else we got startin’? Well, they gotta fill out the rest of the spots. See, they got this guy, maybe he’s a guard, maybe a forward, depends on the day, I reckon. Could be Austin Reaves, the young fella with the funny lookin’ hair. He hustles, I’ll give him that. Works hard, that one.
- Austin Reaves – Guard/Forward, young fella, hustles a lot
And for the last starter… well, it changes. Sometimes they put in a bigger guy for defense, sometimes another shooter, depends on who they’re playin’ against. Could be Rui Hachimura. He’s from Japan, I hear. Tall guy, can shoot a bit, but needs to be stronger, in my opinion. Or maybe it’s Jarred Vanderbilt, another forward, real good at defense. It’s always changin’, these youngsters.
- Rui Hachimura – Forward, from Japan, needs to be stronger
- Jarred Vanderbilt – Forward, good at defense
The Bench, The Other Fellahs
Now, the fellas comin’ off the bench, they ain’t as good as the starters, most of the time, but they still gotta play. They gotta give the starters a rest, ya know. We got a whole bunch of ‘em. Too many to name, if you ask me.
There’s this guard, Gabe Vincent, they got him from Miami. He’s supposed to be a good shooter, but I ain’t seen it much yet. Then there’s Christian Wood, another big guy. He can score sometimes, but he don’t play much defense. They gotta work on that defense, all of ‘em.
- Gabe Vincent – Guard, supposed to be a good shooter
- Christian Wood – Big guy, can score, bad defense
And they got some young fellas, draft picks they call ‘em. Jalen Hood-Schifino and Maxwell Lewis. Don’t know much about them yet, still gotta prove themselves. They’re learnin’, I guess. Gotta learn fast in this league, though.
- Jalen Hood-Schifino – Young fella, draft pick
- Maxwell Lewis – Another young fella, draft pick
They also got Jaxson Hayes. Another center, tall guy. He jumps high, tries to block shots. Sometimes he gets fouls, though. Gotta be careful with them fouls. And Cam Reddish, a forward. He’s been around a few teams, hasn’t really stuck anywhere. Maybe this is his chance, who knows.
- Jaxson Hayes – Center, jumps high, gets fouls
- Cam Reddish – Forward, been on a lot of teams
What it all Means, Summin’ it Up
So, that’s the Lakers depth chart, as best as I can figure it. They got some good players, some not-so-good players. They got LeBron and AD, they’re the main guys. The rest of ‘em, they gotta step up. They gotta play good defense, gotta make their shots. Gotta work together, like a team. That’s what I say. If they do that, maybe they’ll win some games. If not, well, it’ll be a long season, that’s for sure.
The coach, that fella Ham, he’s gotta figure out who plays best together, who to put in at the end of the game, all that stuff. It ain’t easy, bein’ a coach. Lots of pressure. But that’s his job. He gets paid the big bucks to make them decisions, so he better make ‘em right.
So there you have it. The Lakers. Starters, bench players, the whole shebang. Don’t ask me too much more, my head’s already spinnin’ with all these names. I just hope they play good, make us proud. That’s all a body can ask for, right?
Lakers Roster Changes, Who’s In and Who’s Out
They let some fellas go, waived ‘em, they call it. Colin Castleton, Grayson Murphy, Kylor Kelly, and Jordan Goodwin. Didn’t work out, I guess. That’s the way it goes in basketball, always changing. One day you’re in, the next day you’re out. Gotta be tough, gotta keep workin’ hard, or they’ll find someone else to take your place. That’s just how it is. They are always looking for the right Lakers Shooting Guard or Lakers Roster.
Now, they might get some more players later on, maybe trade for someone, maybe sign someone who got let go from another team. It’s always a work in progress, this basketball thing. Never a dull moment, that’s for sure. But for now, this is what they got. This is the Lakers team. We’ll see how they do. We’ll be watching the Lakers Schedule.
