Okay, so, let’s talk about Lexi Thompson and her brothers. I was digging into this the other day, and it’s pretty interesting stuff.
So I started by looking up who Lexi Thompson even is. Turns out, she’s a big-time golfer, like, professional level. Born in 1995 in Florida, she was even homeschooled and everything. I was like, “Okay, that’s cool,” but then I found out she’s got two older brothers, Nicholas and Curtis.
And guess what? They’re golfers too! It’s like a whole family thing. I started reading more about them and got a little sidetracked reading about how Lexi became the youngest ever to qualify for some big tournament when she was just 12. Like, can you imagine being that good at something when you’re 12? I was still trying to figure out long division at that age.
I spent a good chunk of time looking into what each of her brothers was up to.
- Nicholas, who’s the oldest.
- Curtis, who’s in the middle.
It looks like they’ve both played in some big-deal golf tournaments as well, the Korn Ferry Tour and the PGA Tour. I don’t know a ton about golf, but those sound important.
Anyway, after reading a bunch of articles and stuff, it seems like golf is just in their blood. I found a quote where Lexi said she got into it because her whole family was into it. Made me think about my own family and how we all ended up doing completely different things.
I also learned that Lexi recently announced she’s retiring from playing full-time, which is kind of a big deal. There was a quote from her about how she’s “held a lot in,” and it sounded pretty emotional. I felt for her, you know? It’s tough to walk away from something you’ve been doing your whole life.
Then I found a quote from her about playing golf with men. She said something like “I Said I Would Only Play If They Made The Story About The Kids To Show That No Dream Is Too Big.” I thought that was pretty awesome and inspiring.
So yeah, that’s basically what I learned about Lexi Thompson and her brothers. It was a fun little research rabbit hole to go down. Made me realize how much dedication it takes to be a professional athlete, and how cool it is that they all share that passion as a family.
