Alright, so I decided to spend some time looking into this LIU versus UMass Lowell game. Wasn’t doing much else, figured I’d try and see if I could figure out who might have the edge.

Starting Off Simple
First thing I did, just pulled up the basic stuff. You know, recent game results, overall records for the season. Gotta get the lay of the land first. Saw how many they’d won, how many they’d lost lately. Gave me a rough picture right away.
Digging a Bit Deeper
Then I started looking at some more specific things. Points scored per game, points allowed. That’s usually pretty telling. I checked out things like:
- How they shoot the ball – percentages and stuff.
- Rebounding – who controls the boards better.
- Turnovers – always a big factor, who takes care of the ball.
Tried to see if there were any major differences jumping out. Sometimes one team is way better in one area, and that can be the key.
Thinking About the Matchup
It wasn’t just about individual team stats though. I thought about how they might match up against each other. Does one team’s strength play right into the other team’s weakness? That kind of thing. Looked at home versus away records too, sometimes teams play totally different depending on where the game is. UMass Lowell seemed a bit more consistent overall, maybe?
The Gut Feeling Part
After looking at all the numbers and records, sometimes you just get a feeling. Maybe it’s based on watching a previous game, or just how the stats feel when you put them together. It’s not scientific, obviously, but I factor it in. The data pointed slightly one way, maybe UMass Lowell looked a bit more solid defensively on paper.

Making the Call
So, weighing it all up – the recent games, the season stats, how they might match up, and that little gut feeling – I ended up leaning towards UMass Lowell for this one. Felt like they had a few more things going for them, looked a bit steadier based on what I could see. No guarantees, of course, it’s just a game. But that was my process, looking at the info I had and making a judgment call based on it.
That’s pretty much how I went about it. Just spent some time looking things up and thinking it through. We’ll see how close I get when the game actually happens.
