Well, let me tell ya, if you’re lookin’ for LSU’s 2005 football schedule, I got you covered. Now, y’all know LSU Tigers, they don’t play no small games, right? 2005 was a wild year, and they played some real tough teams. You know, every time LSU plays, it’s like a big ol’ showdown—these boys don’t back down.
So, let me break it down for ya, nice and simple. Here’s how the 2005 LSU football schedule went, straight from the heart of Baton Rouge.
First off, y’all need to know about the first game—September 3, 2005. LSU kicked it off real good, playin’ North Texas at home. You know LSU wasn’t messin’ around. They won that game, no question about it. Big time! LSU 51, North Texas 7—that’s how you start a season, ain’t it?
Then, just a week later, September 10, they took on the Arizona Wildcats in Tempe. Now, don’t get me wrong, Arizona gave ‘em a run for their money, but LSU pulled through, just like they do. LSU 35, Arizona 31—close but still a win!
After that, things started to heat up a little bit more. On September 17, LSU came back home to Tiger Stadium to face the Tennessee Volunteers. That one didn’t go LSU’s way, though. Tennessee 30, LSU 27—tough loss, but they got back on track.
Next up, September 24, LSU was back in Baton Rouge to play Mississippi State. Now, y’all know what happened there. LSU wasn’t playin’ around, they got the win easy. LSU 37, Mississippi State 7—that’s more like it!
October came and LSU was ready. They had some big games comin’ up, like October 1 against the Vanderbilt Commodores. It was a tough match, but the Tigers did their thing. LSU 28, Vanderbilt 10—easy W, just like we like it.
And then, on October 8, they had to face the Florida Gators, down in Gainesville. Now, Florida’s a tough team, but LSU kept their heads in the game and pulled through. LSU 21, Florida 17—now that’s what I’m talkin’ about!
Later in the season, on October 15, LSU took on the South Carolina Gamecocks. South Carolina had a strong season too, but LSU didn’t let that scare ‘em. LSU 45, South Carolina 24—man, they were rollin’!
By the time November came around, LSU was still goin’ strong. On November 5, they faced the Auburn Tigers. Now, Auburn was tough, no doubt. But LSU showed up and took care of business. LSU 20, Auburn 17—narrow but a win, baby!
Then, on November 12, they went up against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama always brings heat, but LSU didn’t let ‘em get away with anything. LSU 10, Alabama 6—a real close one, but a win is a win!
November 19, LSU faced Ole Miss. I tell you, that was one of the easiest games on the schedule. LSU 40, Ole Miss 7—now that’s a showin’!
And lastly, November 26, LSU wrapped up the regular season with a big ol’ win over the Arkansas Razorbacks. LSU 19, Arkansas 17—close, but LSU held on to that victory.
Then, LSU went on to play Georgia in the SEC Championship Game on December 3. This game was one of the best of the year, but unfortunately, LSU lost. Georgia 34, LSU 14—tough one, but LSU wasn’t done yet.
And then, on December 30, LSU played Miami in the Peach Bowl. LSU came out on top with a dominant win. LSU 40, Miami 3—now that was a statement game, y’all!
So, that’s how LSU’s 2005 season played out. They ended up with a record of 11-2 and finished ranked 6th in the nation. Not bad for Coach Les Miles’ first year, huh? Real strong year for the Tigers, and that schedule was no joke. They played hard and made sure everyone knew LSU was a team to be reckoned with.
