Alright, let’s talk about this Marvel Snap thing. My grandson, he’s always fiddlin’ with his phone, playin’ this game. I peeked over his shoulder a few times, and well, it looks like a bunch of pictures flippin’ around, but he says it’s got strong cards and weak cards, somethin’ about energy and power. Sounds like a whole lotta fuss to me, but he seems to like it, so I guess it can’t be all bad.
Now, from what I gather, some cards are stronger than others. He was goin’ on and on about “The Infinaut” and “Destroyer” bein’ real strong. Big fellas, I guess. But then he says they got problems, like you can’t just play ’em whenever you want. Always some kinda catch, ain’t there? Like that time I bought that “discount” TV and it only lasted a week. Hmph!
Then there’s these rare cards. He gets all excited when he gets a new one. Calls ’em Series 4 and 5. Says they’re hard to find. Like lookin’ for a four-leaf clover in a hay field, I tell ya. He mentioned names like “Shuri” and “Thanos”. Sound like fancy city folk to me. He says you get ’em from openin’ things called “Collector’s Reserves,” whatever those are. Sounds like gambling to me, but he assures me it ain’t.
- Strong Cards: Infinaut, Destroyer, Giganto, Agatha Harkness, Red Skull – but they got their downsides, you know.
- Rare Cards: Series 4 and 5 – Shuri, Thanos, She-Hulk – hard to get your hands on.
- Upgrading Cards: Makes ’em look fancier, and helps you get more cards. Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Ultra, Infinity – sounds like a bunch of hooey to me.
He’s always tappin’ and swipin’ on those cards, makin’ ’em “better”. He says it’s called “upgrading”. Makes the pictures change, get all shiny and stuff. Starts with “Common” and goes all the way up to “Infinity”. Seems like a lot of work for a picture, but he says it helps him get even more cards. It’s like a never-ending cycle, I tell ya. Reminds me of when I used to collect stamps. Always lookin’ for the next one, the prettier one.
He also talks about this “Collection Level”. Says it’s how you unlock new cards. But apparently, it needs some fixin’. He says it takes too long to get the good cards now. Says when you start, you get a bunch of cards easy, then it slows down somethin’ fierce. He mumbles about Series 1 and Series 2, then it gets all complicated. Reminds me of when they built that new highway, took forever and a day, and now it’s always under construction. Some things never change.
And every week, there’s somethin’ new. He was talkin’ about “Spotlight Cache Week” and some characters named “Pixie” and “Mobius M. Mobius”. Honestly, I can’t keep up. Too many names, too many pictures. He gets all excited about it, though. Talks about “deck theories” and “strategies”. Sounds like he’s plannin’ a war or somethin’. I just tell him to make sure he eats his vegetables and gets enough sleep.
He’s always watchin’ these videos too, some fella named Jeff Hoogland. Says he’s good at the game and teaches people how to play. My grandson even talks about joining some kind of “Superpowered Subreddit” thing, whatever that is. All this screen time, makes my head spin. Back in my day, we played outside, got some fresh air. But times are different now, I guess.
So, that’s the gist of it. Marvel Snap. Strong cards, rare cards, upgrading, and a whole lotta fuss. If you ask me, it’s a lot of complicated stuff for a bunch of pictures on a phone. But hey, if it keeps my grandson busy and out of trouble, I guess I can’t complain too much. Just hope he doesn’t spend all his allowance on it. Money don’t grow on trees, ya know.
In short, seems like a lot of work for some pictures, but the kids seem to like it. Strong cards are good but got problems, rare cards are hard to get, and upgrading makes them shiny. And it sounds like they need to fix how you get new cards because it takes too long. That’s all I got to say about it.
