Alright, so I’ve been digging into this Micah Vanterpool guy, trying to figure out if he’s got what it takes for the NFL. You know, just like I always do, breaking things down for you all in my little corner of the internet.
First off, I went straight to the source, well, not exactly, but you know, the internet. I started with some basic searches to see what’s out there about this guy. Turns out, he’s an offensive lineman, played for the University of Hawai’i. Not a bad start, right?
Then I started to look into his history. Apparently, this guy didn’t have a ton of offers coming out of high school. I read somewhere that he only got his first Division I scholarship from UNLV three weeks into his senior season. Ended up with six offers in total. He wasn’t some top recruit, but he’s got that underdog story going for him, which I kinda like.
Digging Deeper
Next, I wanted to see some recognition he might have gotten. Found out he was named to the 2022 All-Mountain West Football Second Team as an offensive lineman. That’s something, right? It means the dude was making some noise in his conference. He’s a senior, by the way, or was, I guess.
Then, boom! News breaks that the New England Patriots signed him after a workout. This is where it gets interesting. He wasn’t drafted, but the Patriots saw something in him. They’re calling him a rookie offensive tackle/offensive guard. I guess he’s versatile.
I did a little more digging and found out that he played in the USFL. He’s the second USFL player the Patriots signed recently. This tells me they’re looking for those hidden gems, those guys who might have been overlooked.
Measurements and Stuff
- Height: 6’6″
- Weight: 315 lbs
- Born: Phoenix
- Birthdate: January 19, 1999 (so he’s 25)
I tried to find some videos of him playing, you know, to really see him in action. Found some mentions, but not a lot of actual footage. That’s a bit of a bummer. I like to see these guys move, see their technique. But hey, that’s what I get for researching a guy who is not so high-profile before.
Wrapping It Up
So, what’s the verdict? Well, Micah Vanterpool is definitely an interesting case. He’s got the size, he’s got some accolades, and now he’s got a shot with the Patriots. It’s too early to say if he’ll make it, but I’m rooting for the guy. He’s got that underdog vibe, and who doesn’t love a good underdog story? I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on him. And you know I’ll be back here to share my thoughts if anything new comes up. That’s just how I do things around here.
