Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into MLB The Show lately, and specifically, I’ve been messing around with the roster ratings. Let me tell you, it’s a whole world in itself. I wanted to tweak a few things, make some players a little better, some a little worse, just to see how it would affect my gameplay. So, here’s what I did.

Getting Started
First, I fired up the game and went straight to the roster section. I mean, that’s pretty obvious, right? It took me a bit to find the exact spot where I could edit individual player ratings, the menus can be a little overwhelming at first.
Making Changes
Once I figured it out, I started experimenting. I boosted the hitting stats of a few of my favorite players – because, why not? I wanted to see them crush it! It was super satisfying to see them hit more home runs.
Then, I went the other way. I lowered the ratings of some pitchers on rival teams. Hey, don’t judge, it’s all part of the fun! It definitely made it easier to score runs against them, which, again, was pretty satisfying.
The Results
After playing a bunch of games with these adjusted rosters, it was clear that even small changes can have a big impact. Games were higher-scoring, some players were performing way better than usual, and others were struggling. It was like a whole new ballgame, literally.
- Higher batting averages for my boosted players.
- More home runs, obviously.
- Pitchers I nerfed got rocked.
Final Thoughts
Messing with the roster ratings in MLB The Show is kind of addictive. It’s cool to see how changes, even small ones, can affect the game. I did these things, and I’m for sure going to keep experimenting to create my perfect, personalized MLB experience. You should for sure give it a try and mess with it to see what happens, it really spices things up.
