Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this game called MultiVersus, right? And there’s this character, Marvin the Martian, that I really wanted to try out. So, first thing I did was figure out how to even get him.
Turns out, you need to spend some in-game currency to unlock him. I found out that you gotta use either 3,000 Gold, a Character Token, or 700 Gleamium to start playing as Marvin.
I had some Gold saved up, so I went ahead and used that. I mean, I was itching to start using him, so I didn’t want to wait around.
Once I unlocked him, I jumped straight into practice mode. I wanted to get a feel for his moves, you know? So I started experimenting with his basic attacks, both on the ground and in the air.
His ground attacks are pretty cool. He’s got this laser pistol he whips out, and you can do some neat combos with it. His neutral attack is like this rapid-fire laser shot, and his side attack is this charged-up blast that can really knock people back. Then there’s the up attack, which is kind of an anti-air thing, and the down attack, which is a low shot that can trip people up.
- I spent a good chunk of time just practicing those ground attacks, trying to get the timing down and see how they all flow together.
Then I moved on to his aerial attacks. Those are a bit trickier, but they’re super important, especially in a game like MultiVersus where there’s so much action in the air. His neutral air is this spinning laser shot, which is great for controlling space around you. His side air is a forward laser blast, kind of like his ground side attack, but in the air. The up air is another anti-air, this time with a wider arc, and the down air is a downward laser shot that can spike opponents if you time it right.
- I must have spent hours just jumping around, trying out different combinations of aerial attacks, seeing how they chain together and how they can be used to approach or retreat from opponents.
After getting a handle on his basic moves, I started looking into his special attacks. Those are where things get really interesting. Marvin’s got this spaceship he can summon, and it’s got all these different abilities depending on what direction you input.
I won’t go into every single detail here, but basically, you can use the spaceship to fire lasers, create shields, and even teleport around the stage. It’s crazy! It took me a while to figure out all the different ways you can use the spaceship, but once I did, it opened up a whole new world of possibilities.
I even found a few combos that involve the spaceship. For example, you can use the side special to fire a laser and then immediately follow up with an aerial attack. Or you can use the up special to teleport above an opponent and then come crashing down with a down air attack. There’s also his neutral special, which lets him mark an area on the ground, and then after a short delay, that area gets blasted by his spaceship.
- I practiced this for ages, trying to use it to catch people off guard, but it’s tough to get the timing right. I will try again and again.
And let’s not forget about his down special. I’m not even sure what to call it, but basically, he pulls out this device that creates a big, green bubble around him. If any opponents get caught in the bubble, they get slowed down, making them easy targets. I’ve had some fun with this one, using it to trap people and then set up for a big attack.
Finally
Honestly, I’m still learning new things about Marvin every day. He’s such a complex character, and there are so many different ways you can play him. It’s been a blast figuring him out, and I’m excited to see what other crazy combos and strategies I can come up with. I just wanted to share my experience so far, since I know a lot of people are curious about him. Hopefully, this gives you a better idea of what he’s all about and maybe even inspires you to try him out yourself!
