Okay, so, about this “national championship trophy” thing. I got this idea in my head that I just had to make one myself. Not for any real competition, mind you, just for fun. So I thought, why not document the whole thing? It might be fun, and hey, maybe someone out there will get a kick out of it.
I started by looking around the house for things I could use. I mean, I wasn’t going to spend a bunch of money on this. I found an old bowling trophy in the basement – the base was perfect, nice and solid. That was the start. I removed the bowling figure from the top with a screwdriver.
Then I needed something to go on top, something that looked “championship-worthy,” right? I rummaged through some old boxes and found this plastic football I got from a carnival years ago. It was a bit scuffed, but that just added character. I decided to go with it.
Now, I had to figure out how to attach this football to the base. I grabbed some super glue from the kitchen drawer. I applied a generous amount to the bottom of the football and pressed it firmly onto the trophy base. I held it there for a good five minutes, just to make sure it was secure.
Make it look like a real one
- I thought about painting the whole thing gold, but that seemed a bit much.
- I opted for a more subtle approach.
- I found some gold stickers in my daughter’s room.
- I carefully placed them around the base of the trophy, giving it a touch of class.
Finally, I wanted to add some text, you know, to make it look official. I printed out “National Champion” in a bold font on some regular paper. I cut it out and used some clear tape to stick it to the front of the trophy base.
And there it was, my very own national championship trophy. Not bad for a couple of hours of work and some random stuff I found lying around. It’s not going to win any awards, but it makes me smile every time I see it. It’s a reminder that you can make something fun and unique with a little bit of creativity and some elbow grease. And who knows, maybe it’ll inspire someone else to make their own crazy trophy.
