Okay, so I’ve been having a real headache with Tyranitar in raids lately. That big, green, mean dinosaur thing is just tough. I decided I needed to get serious about finding the best counters, so I dove in headfirst.

My Quest for the Best Tyranitar Counters
First, I spent some time digging around online. I needed to understand Tyranitar’s weaknesses. Turns out, it’s a Rock and Dark-type, which means it’s super vulnerable to Fighting-type moves. Like, double weakness. I made a mental note: Fighting, Fighting, Fighting!
Then I started looking at my own Pokémon. I have a pretty decent collection, but I wasn’t sure who would be the best choice. I’ve had a Machamp for a while, and he’s pretty strong, so I figured he’d be a good starting point.
- Machamp: My trusty Machamp, always ready for a brawl.
Next, I started to search for the other pokemons that is suitable for Fighting-type. I try to listing the name in my mind.
- Lucario: I’ve heard Lucario is a beast, but mine isn’t quite leveled up enough. Gotta work on that.
- Conkeldurr: Its seems like Conkeldurr is good at Fighting.
- Terrakion: It’s must be a good choice.
I went into a few practice raids. I just wanted to see how my Machamp would do, and, well, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing either. I realized I needed to pay more attention to the movesets. My Machamp had some Fighting moves, but they weren’t necessarily the best ones.
So, back to the drawing board. I went to some online to check the best movesets on the recommendations.

- Best fast move: Counter
- Best charge move: Dynamic Punch
It was time for some serious training (and maybe a few TMs). I spent a while powering up my Machamp, and I used a couple of Charged TMs to try and get Dynamic Punch. It took a few tries (and a lot of Stardust!), but I finally got it!
The next Tyranitar raid I joined, I was ready. My powered-up Machamp, with Counter and Dynamic Punch, was a monster. We took down Tyranitar so much faster! It was a huge difference.
I’m still working on getting a good Lucario and other Fighting-types powered up, but for now, I’m feeling pretty good about my Tyranitar-busting strategy. It’s all about that double weakness to Fighting, and having the right moves makes all the difference. It took some time, some experimenting, and a bit of resource grinding, but I finally feel like I can hold my own against that big green dino!
