Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into this whole “NFL strongest players” thing, and let me tell you, it’s a rabbit hole! I started off pretty basic, just Googling around, you know? But it quickly turned into a whole project.

First, I compiled a massive list of names. I mean, EVERYONE who’s ever been called “strong” in the NFL. I used some sports websites, fan forums, old articles… anything I could find. My initial list was ridiculously long.
Narrowing it Down
Then came the hard part: trimming that list down. I knew I couldn’t just go by, like, who looked the biggest. So I started digging into stats. I looked at things like:
- Bench press reps (the classic, right?)
- Squat max (gotta have strong legs)
- Combine numbers (if they were available)
- Anecdotal evidence (stories from teammates, coaches, etc.)
I spent hours, seriously, HOURS, pouring over these numbers. I made spreadsheets. I compared players from different eras. I even watched some old game footage to see these guys in action. It was like being a sports detective!
It was tough, because, how do you REALLY compare, say, a lineman from the 70s to a linebacker today? The game has changed so much! But I tried to be as objective as possible, focusing on the numbers and the stories that kept popping up.
Finally, I managed to create what is the strongest player’s top list. It’s not perfect, and I’m sure some people will disagree, but I feel good about the work I put in. Now to write it all up.
