Alright, so I wanted to mess around with that “pass time cyberpunk” thing everyone’s been talking about. You know, making your character look like they’ve really lived in Night City. I’ve seen some crazy screenshots, so I figured I’d give it a shot myself.

First, I booted up the game. Obviously. Then, I loaded my most recent save – gotta have a character to work with, right?
Experimenting with Looks
I headed straight for the nearest Ripperdoc. Figured that’s where the magic happens. I spent a good while just cycling through all the options. The cyberware, the scars, the tattoos… it’s a lot to take in.
- I started with the face. I added a few scars – nothing too crazy, just some subtle ones around the eyes and mouth. Like my V had seen some stuff, you know?
- Then I moved on to the cyberware. I picked some of those really visible ones, the kind that look like they’ve been bolted on. Makes it look less… polished, more… lived-in.
- I added some mismatched cyberware, it looked like some of it was older and some more modern.
- Tattoos were next. I went for a bunch of faded ones, layered on top of each other. Like they’d been there for years, getting touched up and added to over time.
Clothing Makes a Big Different
After the Ripperdoc, I hit up my apartment and dug through my wardrobe. The clothes really make a difference. I avoided anything too clean or new-looking.
- I looked some old, patched-up jackets, ripped jeans, and worn-out boots.
- I tried to find stuff that looked like it had been repaired a few times. You know, stitches and patches, maybe a little bit of duct tape here and there.
I spent ages just mixing and matching different outfits. It’s surprisingly tricky to make a character look convincingly “worn out” without making them look like a total mess.
Final Touches
Finally, I took my newly-aged V out for a spin. I drove around Night City, found some dark alleys and neon-lit streets, and started snapping screenshots.

It took a few tries to get the lighting and angles right, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. My V looks like she’s been through hell and back, but she’s still standing. That’s the Night City spirit, right?
If you do try this, just remember to play around. it is all trail and error. Have fun with it!
