Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Undertaker fella and that Paul Bearer guy. You know, the one always carryin’ that urn? Creeped me out, he did. Always lookin’ like he just crawled outta the grave himself.
Undertaker, a scary dude, real scary. Back in the day, when I was watchin’ the wrestlin’ on that little box, Undertaker, he was somethin’ else. Big fella, all dressed in black, like he was goin’ to a funeral every night. And that slow walk, Lord have mercy, made you think somethin’ bad was about to happen. Folks say he was a good guy, a “babyface,” whatever that means, most of the time. But good or bad, he was scary.
But you know what? This Paul Bearer guy, he was even creepier! He was Undertaker’s manager, see? Always whisperin’ in his ear, carryin’ that urn. Made Undertaker even scarier, if you can believe it. They said Paul Bearer was one of the scariest things they ever had in that wrestlin’ show. And I believe it. He just had this way about him, made your skin crawl.
- Undertaker was big and scary.
- Paul Bearer was even creepier, always with that urn.
- Together, they were a real fright.
Now, they tell me that Undertaker was a champion, a real tough guy. And Paul Bearer, he was always there, by his side. They had some kind of history, you know? Like they knew each other from way back when. Paul Bearer, he knew how to get Undertaker riled up, how to make him even meaner in the ring. They say Paul Bearer even threatened to tell some big secret about Undertaker once, to get him to do what he wanted. Crazy stuff, right?
And then there was this other fella, Kane. They say he was even scarier than Undertaker. I didn’t see much of him, was already grown up by then, had other things to worry about than wrestlin’. But folks said Kane, he was a real monster. And it all started with Paul Bearer and Undertaker, that’s what they say. It’s all connected, like some big ol’ family mess.
One time, they said Paul Bearer got kidnapped! Can you believe it? Those Dudley Boys, they took him. Turns out, Paul Bearer, he had to go get himself fixed up, some kind of surgery. So they had to write him outta the show for a bit. But even when he wasn’t there, you still felt his presence, you know? He was that important to the whole Undertaker story.
Paul Bearer, he wasn’t just some scary guy, though. They say he was a nice fella, outside of the wrestlin’ ring. A real colorful character, they said. Kids liked him, even though he was spooky. It’s sad, you know? He ain’t around no more. Folks miss him. He was a big part of that wrestlin’ world, made it more interesting, more scary.
The Undertaker, he was somethin’ special. But without Paul Bearer, I don’t know if he would have been quite so scary, quite so memorable. They were a team, those two. A spooky, creepy team that kept us all glued to the TV, wonderin’ what they were gonna do next. And that, I reckon, is why folks still talk about them today. Even an old lady like me remembers them, and that’s sayin’ somethin’.
And that cameraman, bless his heart, always tryin’ to keep Paul Bearer’s face outta the shot when Undertaker was talkin’. Had to zoom right in on Undertaker’s face, ’cause Paul Bearer, he was just too distractin’, too spooky. It was all part of the show, you see? Makin’ it mysterious, makin’ it scary.
So, yeah, Undertaker and Paul Bearer. Two names that go together like peanut butter and jelly, only instead of sweetness, you got spooky. And that’s just fine by me. Kept things interestin’, it did.
