Alright, guys, let’s talk about the Perpetualis and how I finally snagged my perfect PvP roll. This thing has been a grind, I’m not gonna lie. I’ve been wanting a solid auto rifle for Crucible, something to really compete with all those Ammits and other meta weapons.
The Hunt Begins
First, I dug into figuring out which perks I even wanted. I checked out some YouTube videos, read a few Reddit threads – the usual. It seemed like everyone was raving about different combos, so it was tough to nail down the “god roll”.
I started by just playing a ton of, well, everything. Strikes, Crucible, Gambit… you name it. I was just hoping to get a Perpetualis to drop, any Perpetualis. I must have dismantled dozens of them, all with garbage rolls. Seriously, who needs Hip-Fire Grip on an auto rifle in PvP?
Narrowing it Down
After a while, I decided to focus my efforts. I realized I was wasting time with random drops. So, I started farming the seasonal activities – the ones that specifically reward Season of Defiance engrams. Those engrams are key since they have a higher chance of dropping the weapons you’re looking for.
- I ran the Defiant Battlegrounds playlist like crazy.
- I made sure to focus my engrams at the H.E.L.M. specifically for Perpetualis.
- I even tried to optimize my loadout to complete activities faster.
It was still a slog. I got a few promising rolls – maybe a Zen Moment here, a Target Lock there – but nothing that really clicked. I almost gave up a few times, thinking I was cursed to forever use my trusty old Gnawing Hunger.
The “Aha!” Moment
Then, it finally happened. I was grinding out one last Defiant Battleground, feeling pretty defeated. And boom! A Perpetualis dropped. I hovered over it in my inventory, holding my breath….
It had:
- Smallbore: Extra range and stability? Yes, please!
- Ricochet Rounds: More range and stability, plus those sweet, sweet bounces.
- Zen Moment: Reducing flinch is a must-have in Crucible.
- Target Lock: More damage to opponent.
- Range Masterwork
I literally yelled. My wife thought I was crazy. But I didn’t care. This was it! The roll I’d been dreaming of.
Putting it to the Test
I immediately jumped into a Crucible match. And let me tell you, this thing shreds. The stability is insane. I was landing shots I never would have hit before. The range is fantastic, letting me challenge pulse rifles at distances I used to avoid. The Zen Moment keep the accuracy and Target Lock makes every opponent be melt.
I’ve been using this Perpetualis non-stop in PvP ever since. It’s completely changed my game. I’m winning more gunfights, getting higher scores, and most importantly, having more fun.
So, if you’re looking for a great PvP auto rifle, don’t give up on the Perpetualis. It might take some time and effort, but the god roll is out there. And trust me, it’s worth the grind.
