Okay, so I’ve always loved puzzles, especially crosswords. Today, I decided to tackle a real brain-buster: a crossword with the theme “place of twist and turns.” I figured, “How hard could it be?” Famous last words, right?

I started by printing out the crossword. I like to do them the old-fashioned way, with a pencil. I sharpened my trusty pencil, grabbed a cup of coffee, and got to work.
At first, I breezed through some of the clues. “A snake does this?” Easy, “slithers.” “A road might do this?” “Wind,” obviously. I was feeling pretty good about myself. I even managed to fill in some long words crossing both the downs and acrosses.
But then, I hit a wall. I was staring at clues like “feature of a corkscrew” or “what a maze does” and my mind went completely blank. I tried different letter combinations, erased a bunch of wrong answers, and groaned in frustration a few times.
The Struggle is Real
- Stared blankly at the paper for a good 10 minutes.
- Googled “synonyms for twist” (don’t judge, we all do it!).
- Considered giving up and watching TV instead.
- Accidentally snapped my pencil lead.
I decided to take a break. I walked around, refilled my coffee, and came back with a fresh perspective. And then, slowly but surely, things started to click. “Feature of a corkscrew?” “Spiral!” “What a maze does?” “Confuse!” I was finally making progress again!
It took a while, but eventually, after lots of thinking, guessing, and a few lucky breaks, I filled in the last square. Victory! It wasn’t pretty, and my crossword was covered in eraser marks, but I finished it.

So, that’s my crossword adventure for today. It was definitely a “place of twists and turns,” both literally and figuratively. I am feeling tired but a good tired. It’s amazing how satisfying it can be to conquer a challenging puzzle, even if it’s just a silly crossword.
