Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “Should Georgia have been in the playoffs?” debate everywhere online, and I finally decided to dig into it myself. It’s been bugging me, you know? Like, I kept seeing these hot takes, but I wanted to form my own opinion, based on, like, actual stuff, not just feelings.

My Deep Dive Process
First, I grabbed a notepad and pen – yeah, I’m old school sometimes. I figured I needed to organize my thoughts. Then, I opened my laptop and started with the basics. what was Georgia’s record? Who did they play? How did those games actually go down?
I spent a good chunk of time just reading game summaries. Not just the scores, but the actual play-by-plays. Trying to get a feel for how dominant (or not) Georgia was in each game. I jotted down notes on key games, close calls, big wins, that sort of thing.
- Checked their strength of schedule. Who did they actually beat? Were those teams any good?
- Compared their stats to the other teams in contention. Points scored, points allowed, all that jazz.
- Watched some game highlights. Because, let’s be real, stats don’t always tell the whole story. You gotta see the flow of the game, you know?
It was a bit of a rabbit hole, I’m not gonna lie. I ended up with pages of notes, scribbled-out ideas, and a whole bunch of browser tabs open. My wife even came in at one point and was like, “What are you doing?”
After all that, I started to piece together my own argument. I tried to be objective, looking at both sides. There were definitely some valid points for both including and excluding them. It wasn’t as clear-cut as some people were making it out to be.
I formulated all the arguments and data, finally,I got my own answer.
