Okay, so here’s the deal. I was messing around, trying to remember some of the old baseball teams I used to follow. I got a real nostalgic kick and decided to dig up the 1995 Cincinnati Reds roster. Figured it’d be a fun little project to see who I could still name off the top of my head and then fill in the gaps.

First thing I did, obviously, was fire up my browser. I went straight to Google, typed in “1995 Cincinnati Reds roster,” and boom! A bunch of sites popped up. I clicked on the one that looked the most official – some baseball reference site, I think. Wasn’t about to go clicking on anything that looked shady.
The roster itself was pretty straightforward. You got your names, positions, and all that jazz. I started scanning through it, seeing who I remembered. Barry Larkin, of course! Can’t forget him. And Pete Schourek, the pitcher. I was actually surprised how many names were still rattling around in my brain after all these years.
But then came the part where I started to forget. A lot of guys I vaguely remembered, but couldn’t quite place. So, I started cross-referencing. If a name seemed familiar, I’d Google it to see what their career was like, what other teams they played for, and maybe jog my memory a little. It was like a baseball history lesson, for real.
One thing that was cool was looking up some of the stats. See how well these guys actually performed that year. Numbers always tell a good story. Found out a few guys I thought were superstars were actually just decent role players. And vice versa! Humbling, you know?
To make it a bit more interactive, I decided to make a little list. I started with the guys I remembered instantly, moved on to the ones I needed a little help with, and then had a “mystery men” section for the guys I couldn’t place at all. It’s all written down on my notepad. Kinda silly, but it’s fun to see the breakdown.

Honestly, this whole thing was just a trip down memory lane. It’s amazing how much you forget over time, but also how easily a name or a stat can bring it all flooding back. Makes you realize how much these games can mean to you, even years later.
Would I do it again? Absolutely. Maybe next time I’ll tackle the ’75 Big Red Machine. Now that’s a roster worth remembering!
