Alright, so I’ve been meaning to put together a definitive 2010 Real Madrid team list for a while now. It’s one of those things that’s been bouncing around in my head, and I finally decided to just sit down and do it. I mean, that 2010 squad was something else, right?

First, I started digging through my old bookmarks and football archives. I had some stuff saved, but I really wanted to make sure I got everything right. You know, not just the starting eleven, but the whole roster, even the guys who didn’t get a ton of playing time.
Next, I fired up a few different football stats websites. I cross-referenced everything, just to be double sure. It was kinda like detective work, piecing it all together. Some sites had most of the info, but then I’d find little discrepancies, so I’d have to go hunting on another site to confirm things.
The Nitty-Gritty
I decided to organize everything in a simple spreadsheet. Nothing fancy, just a clear layout of the players, their positions, and maybe a few notes about their roles on the team.
- Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas, obviously, the captain and legend. Then there was Jerzy Dudek, the experienced backup.
- Defenders: This is where it gets interesting. Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Carvalho, Arbeloa, Marcelo… Man, what a backline! Also, there were guys like Garay and Albiol.
- Midfielders: Xabi Alonso, the maestro. Lassana Diarra, Guti, Granero, Kaka… even Van der Vaart was there. So much talent!
- Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, of course, the goal machine. Higuain, Benzema (still finding his feet back then), and even the legend, Raul, in his final season.
I spent a good few hours on this, making sure I didn’t miss anyone. I even went down a rabbit hole looking up some of the younger players who were on the fringes of the first team. It was a trip down memory lane, for sure.
Finally, I had a complete list. It felt good to have it all in one place. It’s not just about the names, either. Seeing the whole squad laid out like that, it really reminds you of the depth of talent that Real Madrid had back then. It makes you appreciate those seasons even more.

It was very rewarding for me to have completed my own sharing, so that’s all there is to it.
