Alright, so I saw this picture online of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson from back in the 90s. You know the one – black turtleneck, gold chain, the whole deal. It’s hilarious and had been making the rounds again, so I thought, why not try to recreate it for fun? It is a pretty simple outfit after all.
First thing I did was dig through my closet. I didn’t have a black turtleneck, so I ran over to the store. Luckily, I found one that looked pretty close to what he was wearing in the picture. Score!
Next up, the gold chain. I don’t usually wear jewelry, but I did have an old, kind of gaudy gold chain lying around somewhere. I rummaged through my old stuff and finally found it. Perfect!
Here’s what I ended up putting together:
- Black turtleneck – check.
- Gold chain – check.
- Jeans – easy, had those already.
- Fanny pack – okay, I didn’t have one of these, but I figured I could skip it for now. It was more about the top half of the outfit anyway.
I put on the turtleneck and the chain, looked in the mirror, and, man, it was pretty funny. I snapped a few pics, trying to copy The Rock’s pose from the photo. Not going to lie, it was tougher than it looked to get that same cool, confident vibe he had.
It was a fun little experiment. I shared the pictures with some friends, and we all got a good laugh. It’s just one of those iconic looks that’s so bad, it’s good. And hey, it’s a reminder that even The Rock had some questionable fashion choices back in the day!
