Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about this Rome Braves team and their dang schedule for 2024.
First off, they ain’t even called the Rome Braves no more. Them fancy folks decided to change the name to the Rome Emperors. Don’t ask me why. Probably some city slicker idea. They been playin’ in Rome, Georgia, since 2003, though. Used to be in Macon, but they moved on over. Got themselves a nice stadium too, AdventHealth Stadium they call it. Sounds all highfalutin to me.
Now, about that schedule. They playin’ a whole heap of games, a hundred and thirty-two in total, bless their hearts. That’s a lot of baseball, I tell ya. They’re in somethin’ called the South Atlantic League, playin’ against teams like the Aberdeen IronBirds and the Hudson Valley somethin’-or-others. All them fancy team names, hard to keep track of, I swear.
Key Dates to Remember
They got some special days you might wanna mark on your calendar, if you’re into that kinda thing. They start playin’ on April 9th, that’s the openin’ night. Then there’s Mother’s Day on May 12th, Memorial Day on May 27th, Father’s Day on June 16th, and of course, Independence Day on July 4th. Lots of holidays mixed in with baseball, ain’t that somethin’?
- April 9th: Openin’ Night
- May 12th: Mother’s Day
- May 27th: Memorial Day
- June 16th: Father’s Day
- July 4th: Independence Day
I heard tell these Rome Emperors fellas did alright last season, won 64 games and lost 64 games. Even Steven, I guess. They got all sorts of players, young fellas tryin’ to make it big, I reckon. And they got managers and folks runnin’ the show. Diamond Baseball Holdings owns ’em now, not the Braves anymore. Money changin’ hands, that’s how it always goes.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do this summer, you could go watch these Rome Emperors play some baseball. It’s a good way to pass the time, eat some peanuts and hotdogs, and maybe yell at the umpires a bit. Just don’t expect me to understand all them fancy rules. I just like watchin’ ’em hit the ball and run around the bases.
Now, where was I? Oh yeah, the schedule. You can probably find the whole thing online somewhere, if you’re good with them computer gadgets. They got websites and all that now. Me, I just hear about it from my grandkids. They keep me up to date on all the local happenings.
And don’t forget, they changed the name, it’s Rome Emperors now. Emperors, can you believe it? Sounds like somethin’ out of a history book. But hey, as long as they play good baseball, I don’t care what they call themselves. Just give me a good game and a cold drink, and I’m happy.
One more thing, I saw somethin’ about them addin’ players to the big league rosters before some kinda draft. Rule 5 Draft, they called it. Guess them boys are tryin’ to move on up, make some real money. Good for them, I say. Work hard and chase your dreams, that’s what I always tell my grandkids.
Anyway, that’s all I got to say about the Rome Emperors and their 2024 schedule. Go out there and support ’em, if you got nothin’ better to do. And if you see me at the game, don’t be a stranger. Come say hello. I’ll be the one with the big hat and the even bigger bag of peanuts.
Remember folks, this Rome team is a part of the South Atlantic League. They play a lot of games, so check that there schedule. Support your local team and have a good time! They changed their name, they playing games, and it all sounds good to me! Alright, I’m done talkin’ now. Y’all have a good day.
