Okay, so today I decided to tackle a crossword puzzle. It’s called “rookie crossword”, sounds easy enough, right?
I started by entering the first clue I saw into the search thing. It said “Enter the crossword clue and click ‘Find’ to search for answers to crossword puzzle clues.” Simple enough. It sorted the answers by relevance, which I guess makes sense.
Then, I found this site that claimed to be the “premier online free typing lesson.” I mean, I can type, but I guess some folks might need that. It said typing is essential for education. No arguments there.
Next, I remembered I had to log into my Squarespace account. I needed to tweak something on my own website. Their site said it’s the “all-in-one solution for anyone looking to create a beautiful website.” I guess it is pretty good, though.
After I finished up with Squarespace, I clicked “Log In” and then saw a “Forgot your login details?” link. I didn’t need it, but it’s probably handy for some people. There was also a “Sign up” button, I guess for new users. I ignored it.
I also stumbled upon this thing called Quizlet. You can use it to memorize flashcards. It had some legal term, something about “Sec. 46.01 of the Penal Code.” Not really my thing, but I guess it could be useful if you’re studying law or something.
Then there’s this other tool, a “Free Online URL Decoder.” I didn’t really need it, but I clicked around a bit. Seemed like it could be handy if you’re dealing with a bunch of messy URLs.
Oh, and I got this email about a “free cheat sheet” that supposedly gives you “word-for-word answers” for tough interview questions. Sounds a little sketchy, but hey, maybe it works. I deleted it.
Back to Quizlet, I saw another flashcard talking about a “social construct” and something from the “U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.” Way too academic for me. I just wanted to do my crossword!
Anyway, I finally managed to finish the crossword. It wasn’t as easy as I thought, but I got there in the end. Maybe I’m not such a “rookie” after all.
Here’s what I learned today:
- Crosswords can be trickier than they look.
- There are a lot of random tools and resources online.
- Some people really need help with typing.
- And apparently, “social construct” is a thing. Who knew?
That’s all for my little adventure today. Not exactly what I planned, but hey, that’s life, right?
