Alright, guys, so the other day I wanted to jump back into Fortnite on my Xbox. I hadn’t played in a while, and I was itching to see what all the new hype was about. But before I could get my game on, I realized I might be running low on storage space. I’ve got a ton of games installed, and I didn’t want to start deleting stuff without knowing how much room Fortnite actually needs.

So, first things first, I grabbed my controller and turned on my Xbox. I navigated to the ‘My games & apps’ section. I find it, by going to my home screen, then it’s pretty easy to find in the main menu.
Then. I could already see the available space on my hard drive, but I wanted to see the size of Fortnite specifically.
Finding the Fortnite File Size
- I scrolled through my list of installed games until I spotted the Fortnite tile.
- Then, I pressed the ‘Menu’ button on my controller (the one with the three horizontal lines).
- A little menu popped up, and I selected ‘Manage game & add-ons’.
- Boom! There it was, right at the top: the file size. It’s under the “Storage” section.
Now, the size can vary a bit depending on updates and stuff, When I checked, it was taking up a pretty hefty chunk of space. I think the number on my screen was sitting somewhere around 40-50GB, maybe even a little bit more.
After seeing the size, It did take up a bit more space than I thought, so I spent a few minutes clearing out some old games I hadn’t touched in ages. I also offloaded some old game captures to free up some space and to make double sure I would be able to take full advantage of playing after so long.
With enough free space finally secured, I fired up Fortnite and got back into the action. It was good to be back and to have a new game on my Xbox, and most importantly to share this journey with you!
