Alright, so, you wanna know about this gal, Charlie Hull, and her smokin’ thing, right? I ain’t no fancy writer, but I’ll tell ya what I know, the way I know it. This here Charlie, she’s a golfer, a pretty good one too, from what I hear. Folks been yappin’ ’bout her lately, not just ’cause she swings a club good, but ’cause she likes to puff on a cigarette now and then.
Now, I ain’t got no problem with smokin’. Heck, back in my day, everybody smoked. But these days, folks get all riled up about it, especially when you’re a fancy sports person. They say it ain’t a good image, makes ya look bad. But Charlie, she don’t seem to care much what folks think. She smokes when she wants to smoke, on the golf course, signin’ autographs, wherever.
This whole thing started, see, at some big golf thing, the U.S. Women’s Open, I think they called it. Somebody took a video of her smokin’ while she was signin’ stuff for folks, and it went all over the internet, like them cat videos my grandson shows me. People started talkin’, some sayin’ she’s cool, doin’ her own thing, others sayin’ she’s a bad influence, especially on the young’uns.
- She’s good at golf. Real good, they say. Top-notch, or whatever them fancy words are.
- She smokes. Not all the time, I reckon, but when she feels like it.
- People got opinions about it. Some like it, some don’t. That’s how it always is, ain’t it?
Then there was this other golf thing, the Solheim Cup, somethin’ like that. Apparently, they even gave her permission to smoke there! Can you believe it? I guess they figured it was better to let her smoke than have her all stressed out and not playin’ good. ‘Cause that’s what she says, see? Smokin’ helps her with the stress. Golfin’ at that level, I bet it’s stressful. All them people watchin’, expectin’ you to hit that little ball just right. Heck, I get stressed just tryin’ to get my garden planted straight.
She’s from England, this Charlie gal. Northamptonshire, they say. And she’s young, too. Only 28 or so. Imagine, all that pressure at that age. No wonder she needs a smoke now and then. And there’s this fella, Beadle they call him, some say they’re courtin’. He likes golf too, makes videos about it on that YouTube thing. Seems like a nice enough fella.
Now, I ain’t gonna judge Charlie for smokin’. It’s her life, her choice. She ain’t hurtin’ nobody, just havin’ a smoke. If it helps her play golf better, then more power to her. And let’s be honest, ain’t nobody perfect. We all got our little habits, our ways of dealin’ with things. Hers just happens to be smokin’ a cigarette. And if folks wanna make a big deal outta it, well, that’s their problem, not hers.
Some folks compare her to this other golfer, John Daly, I think his name was. He smoked too, apparently, and drank, and did all sorts of things. But he was a good golfer, just like Charlie. So maybe it don’t matter so much what you do off the course, as long as you do your job on it. That’s what I always say, do your work and don’t bother nobody.
So, that’s the story as far as I can tell. Charlie Hull, the golfin’ gal who likes to smoke. Some folks love her, some folks hate her, but one thing’s for sure, she’s got folks talkin’. And in this world, I reckon that’s half the battle. Keeps you in the news, keeps your name out there. Smart gal, maybe, even if she does like to puff on a cigarette now and then.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about this Charlie gal. She seems like a good sort, even if she smokes like a chimney. Hope she keeps on golfin’ good and doin’ what makes her happy. That’s all that matters in the end, ain’t it?
