Alright, let’s talk about these Resonance Beacons in Wuthering Waves. Been messing around with them quite a bit lately, trying to get the hang of how they actually help out while I’m running around the world.

So, first off, I noticed the option to craft these things. You know, you’re at the Synthesizer, looking through recipes, and there it is: Resonance Beacon. Seemed interesting, the description hinted at helping find stuff, which always catches my eye. Anything to make hunting down collectibles less of a headache, right?
Getting Started
The crafting part wasn’t too bad. I had to gather some basic materials – I think it involved some ores like Floramber and maybe some Indigoite, plus those standard weapon enhancement materials you always seem to have loads of. Went over to the Synthesis station in Jinzhou, selected the beacon, and crafted a few to try out. Pretty straightforward process, thankfully.
First Attempts and Figuring It Out
Okay, so I had my beacons. Now what? I decided to head out to an area I hadn’t scoured completely, somewhere in the Dim Forest, I think. Found a nice open spot and deployed the first beacon from my inventory.
It popped down onto the ground, this little device. Then, on the minimap, a pulsing circle appeared around the beacon’s location. My first thought was, “Okay, does it show chests?” I ran around inside the circle, looking for sparkles or prompts. Nothing immediately jumped out.
Then I noticed a faint directional line pointing from the beacon on the minimap. It wasn’t super obvious at first, kind of blended in. I started following that line. It led me through some trees, up a small cliff, and bingo! Tucked away in a little nook was one of those Sonance Caskets I’d been missing.

That was the lightbulb moment! It wasn’t for chests, necessarily, but specifically pointed towards the nearest Sonance Casket within its range.
Using Them More
After that, I started using them more strategically.
- I’d go to a region where my exploration progress showed I was still missing caskets.
- I’d plop down a beacon, usually somewhere central to the area I suspected might have one.
- Follow the indicator line on the minimap. It really helps narrow down the search area.
- Once I found the casket (or determined there wasn’t one in range), I’d pick up the beacon if I could, or just move on and place another one later.
They seem to have a decent range, but not enormous. Sometimes I had to drop a second one nearby if the first didn’t pick anything up and I still felt sure there was a casket hiding somewhere.
Final Thoughts
So yeah, that’s been my experience with the Resonance Beacons. They aren’t some magic “find everything” button, but they are super useful tools specifically for tracking down those hidden Sonance Caskets. Saves a lot of time compared to just running around aimlessly hoping to stumble upon them. Definitely worth crafting a few if you’re trying to 100% exploration or just want to grab those extra Astrites from the relic shop.
Just remember to actually look at your minimap after you deploy one, focus on that little directional line it gives you. Happy hunting!
