Alright, let’s gab a bit about this Bryson fella, Bryson Dee-sham-bo, or however you say it. Folks are always curious about where folks come from, you know? Like, who their mama and daddy are. It’s natural, I guess.
So, this Bryson, his parents, they’re Jon and Jan. Jon and Jan DeChambeau, plain and simple. Not much fancy about that, is there? Just regular names, like me and my old man.
Now, Jon, he’s passed on, God rest his soul. Heard tell he had a bad time with the sugar sickness, you know, diabetes. And his kidneys too, they went bad. That’s tough, real tough. They say he fought it for a long time, poor fella. Even got a kidney from a friend, can you believe it? That’s a true friend right there. But even that weren’t enough in the end. He died in 2022, they say. Sixty-three ain’t no age to go, no sir.
- Jon DeChambeau (Father): Passed away in 2022.
- Jan DeChambeau (Mother): Still around, I reckon.
Jon, he liked to swing the sticks too, you know, play golf. Not famous like Bryson, but he played some of them pro-fessional matches, or so I heard. Guess that’s where Bryson got it from. Like father, like son, they say. My old man, he was a farmer, and guess what? I ended up marrying a farmer! Life’s funny that way.
This Bryson, he was born in 1993, in a place called Modesto. Never been there myself. Probably full of them city folk. But anyway, he was born there, and I guess his folks raised him up right. Or at least, they raised him up to hit that little white ball real good.
Heard tell Bryson had it rough when he was a young’un. Kids can be mean, you know. Always picking on someone who’s different. Apparently, they bullied him, made fun of him. That ain’t right. Kids need to learn to be kind. But I guess it made him tough. Maybe that’s why he hits that ball so hard, gotta let out all that anger somehow.
Jan, well, I don’t know much about her. Mothers are important, though. They keep the family together, you know? Cook the meals, mend the clothes, and make sure everyone’s doing alright. I bet she’s proud of Bryson, even if he does act a bit peculiar sometimes with all them calculations and scientific stuff he does on the golf course. Folks say he’s real smart, though. Maybe that comes from Jan’s side of the family. Who knows?
So, there you have it. Bryson DeChambeau’s parents, Jon and Jan. Just regular folks, like you and me. One gone too soon, and the other one probably watching her boy on TV, hoping he hits that little ball in the right direction. And hoping he remembers to call his mama every now and then. That’s what kids are supposed to do, you know.
It ain’t easy raising kids, no matter who you are or where you come from. And it sure ain’t easy losing someone you love. But life goes on, and you gotta keep swinging, just like Bryson does on that there golf course.
And that’s about all I know about Bryson’s folks. Just a regular family, with their ups and downs, just like the rest of us. Nothing too fancy, nothing too special. Just people, doing the best they can.
