Oh, you mighta heard of ’em, them three boys over there in the WWE, callin’ themselves The New Day. Now, don’t go thinkin’ it’s just a group, ‘cause it ain’t just any ol’ group—no, no, it’s somethin’ special. These three fella, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E, they done turned the WWE upside down, I tell ya. And it’s been a long time, a whole decade! Yep, 10 whole years since they first came on the scene. Time sure does fly when you’re havin’ fun, don’t it?
Now, them boys sure do stand out. They ain’t like them other groups, always fightin’ and yellin’ at each other. Naw, these fellas are all about positivity. Yep, positivity! They ain’t shy ‘bout preachin’ that gospel of good vibes, laughin’, and havin’ a good ol’ time, even if they’re smackin’ people ‘round in that wrestling ring. They come out there, all smiles, throwin’ pancakes around, makin’ folks laugh. But don’t let that fool ya—they can fight like the best of ‘em, and they sure know how to win.
Back in the day, when they first came together, nobody knew what to expect. It was back in 2014, and they started usin’ a little gospel theme, talkin’ ‘bout the power of positivity. Well, let me tell ya, it didn’t sit too well with them big folks backstage. They thought it was too silly, too light-hearted for them tough wrestlin’ types. So, they didn’t last long on the TV screen at first. But them boys didn’t give up, oh no. They kept comin’ to them live shows, taggin’ in and out, keepin’ that energy up and the crowd rollin’. Eventually, them backstage folks got it—they seen how the people loved ‘em—and so, they gave ‘em the name “The New Day” and, boy, that name sure stuck.
Since then, The New Day has been breakin’ records left and right. Most tag team championships? Yep, they got that record, holdin’ the SmackDown Tag Team titles seven times. Seven! That’s more than I can count on my fingers. They’ve been a force to reckon with, and folks, they ain’t done yet. Sure, Big E’s outta action right now, after that awful neck injury back in 2022, but Kofi and Xavier still goin’ strong as a duo. The New Day ain’t stoppin’, no sir. They might be down one, but they’re still up in the ring, doin’ their thing.
Now, let’s talk ‘bout them moments. Oh, they’ve had a fair share of ’em. Some funny, some serious, but all of ‘em memorable. Like that time they threw them pancakes all over the place? People still talk about that. And don’t forget how they used to come out with them big, colorful outfits. It was like a party every time they showed up! But even through all the fun and the games, they still whooped everybody’s behind in that ring.
And the way they stuck together through thick and thin—like brothers. That’s what’s made ’em real special. They wasn’t just a team; they were a family. Through injuries, setbacks, and all the struggles, they stuck it out. And that’s somethin’ you don’t see every day in that world. There ain’t no quick breakups, no cutthroat business with The New Day. They keep it together, for the fans, for each other, and for the love of the sport.
But y’know, them boys been through their fair share of struggles too. When Big E got hurt, everybody was holdin’ their breath. We didn’t know what’d happen next. But even though Big E’s been on the sidelines, Kofi and Xavier been keepin’ the fire burnin’. They’ve kept it goin’, keepin’ The New Day spirit alive. And that’s somethin’ special, somethin’ rare. Not just in wrestling, but in life. Stickin’ by your people, no matter what. That’s a lesson right there, ain’t it?
So, as they head into their 10th year, The New Day sure ain’t showin’ any signs of slowin’ down. They might be a little older, a little wiser, but them boys are still bringin’ the same energy, the same positivity that made us love ’em all them years ago. They’ve earned their place in WWE history, and if you ask me, they ain’t done makin’ history just yet.
Now, I reckon, we might be seein’ them do a lot more in the future. They ain’t just about the titles—they’re about the legacy. And that’s somethin’ you can’t take away from ‘em. So here’s to 10 years of The New Day—may the next 10 be just as bright and full of good times. Keep on spreadin’ that positivity, boys. You sure got us all feelin’ good!
